Commercial Description:
For years, we've been telling you that great taste grows on trees -- apple trees that is. But just across the orchard we discovered another kind of great taste. We went out on a limb and created Woodchuck Pear Cider, a crisply refreshing drink with the tantalizing essence of pear. You can buy it in 6-packs or on draft.

Once again, Woodchuck manages to make a brew that doesn’t seem at all like a beer. Its aroma is very faint--appearance negligible. The flavor actually does taste like pear juice--very unartificial. Palate is not that complex, though. It just tastes like slightly fizzy, thin pear juice. And with 4% alcohol, you don’t even feel like you’re having a beer. I guess this is for people that like pears and don’t like to drink pear juice and don’t like to drink alcohol. So, I don’t know who this is for--seems like a waste of money. Just buy pear juice.

This bottled cider poured a very small sized head of unnoted finely sized mostly diminishing white colored bubbles that left behind an unnoted lacing. The body contained average carbonation, was transparent and straw yellow in color. Its aroma contained notes of mild cobweb mild pear . Its mouth feel is initially tingly dry smooth with a palate and a aftertaste. Its flavor contained sweet pear notes. Not one I would buy again.

hmmm...my first cider ever. not much darker than water. little bit of foam for a head. aroma is pears in a heavy syrup. flavor is pear, rose petals throughout the middle and finish, very cheap perfume and floral with a long floral and not all that pleasant aftertaste. i can’t imagine anyone wanting to get drunk from this stuff.

Seriously crystal clear colour with the slightest of yellow tints. Basically clear like water with no head at all. Probably the worst smelling product i’ve had thats been on RateBeer. This one smells like a combination of hair salon nastiness with a mixture of fake sugars. I can’t imagine anything doing worse of in these two categories than this one. Super-Light-bodied; Pale sweetness with some canned pear flavours and a bit of apple tartness. Aftertaste shows only sweetness and no body at all. Overall, better tasting than some alcopops, but a horrible looking & smelling product. I’d rather have a real cider or a mead or something else than this. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased at Total Wine in McLean, Virginia on 06-December-2004.

This is the first cider I’ve ever tried. Pours very light yellow with carbonation. Virtually no head. Aroma is like green apple jolly ranchers. The pear flavor comes through a bit and it’s not as sweet as the aroma would suggest. Really an intriguing concept. Very refreshing. I’ll have to try the other ciders to get a better basis for comparison.

Almost clear in appearance, with no head. Very light aroma of pear, and the flavor seems to be just a slightly stronger imitation of the aroma. Very watery, and not nearly as appealing as the apple ciders from the same company.

Clear liquid, some bubbles in it. Scent is pear, but more "cany" pear than actual pear. Taste is thin and watery, very boring... with a candied sweetness to it that’s quite unappetizing.
