VTHopHead (895), Barre, Vermont, USA Jan 18, 2009 Bottle - Poured a very clear yellow-green in color with no head, but plenty of sparkly carbonation. Aroma is medium of pears and green apples... the apple portion seems artificially produced. Flavor is an interesting mix of pear and apple juice. Sweet to begin with but finishes with a slight citric sourness. OK, but not my favorite... mar (1740), Rowlett, Texas, USA Jan 7, 2009 looks like sparkling water with some white froth. slight scent of pears with sugar in the background. smooth on the palate with a light pear flavor and a heavy sugar finish. jake65 (1657), Williston, North Dakota, USA Dec 22, 2008 Bottle: Pale opaque yellow with no head. Aroma is very faint and lightly fruity. Taste is lightly fruity with a synthetic pear flavor. Not any good. KnN (712), Greenbelt, Maryland, USA Dec 9, 2008 Pours almost colorless, bordering on yellow-tinted. No head to speak of although there is some carbonation. Aroma is a pears and artificial sweetener. Flavor has a bit of pear to it with a bit of a twang that is nice, but the overwhelming flavor is artificial. Maybe ice cold on a very hot day this would be ok, but fairly pedestrian as far as ciders or perrys go. Gypsy19 (602), California, USA Nov 27, 2008 A light and drinkable perry that is inoffensive due to lack of character. The taste is somwhat bland, but I could see a non-beer drinker enjoying more than one of these. Overall, fair. blutt59 (2042), Dallas, Texas, USA Oct 31, 2008 bottle, clear silver color, faint head, aroma of sweet fruit, flavors of bubblegum, champagne and sugar, finishes sweet tmohr (22), Illinois, USA Oct 24, 2008 Updated: Jul 30, 200912 oz bottle at Rhapsody in Chicago. Not good at all - sweet, but little real flavor. RickS95 (32), Evansville, Indiana, USA Oct 20, 2008 Not sure this can be considered beer. It has zero head and almost no color.
You can smell and taste the fruit, but if I didn’t know it was pear, I wouldn’t have been able to guess it.
Looks and tastes more like sparkling water than anything. I’m glad I only had one bottle.
