Commercial Description:
For years, we've been telling you that great taste grows on trees -- apple trees that is. But just across the orchard we discovered another kind of great taste. We went out on a limb and created Woodchuck Pear Cider, a crisply refreshing drink with the tantalizing essence of pear. You can buy it in 6-packs or on draft.

So so ish. Kind of bland really. This replaced the much better Colonial style.

Nearly clear yellow-green. No head. Strong sweet aroma of fruit. Very sweet syrupy flavor and mouth feel. Some pear in the finish.

bottle: pint glass: pours very carbonated, leaving a very thin head ring. Color is pale straw, almost like pear juice... the nose is all fruit, definitely apples and pear. The taste is extremely sweet as expected, actually enjoyable but could barely finish the glass myself.

As far as ciders go this one is not one of my favorites, it is a bit too light, and the mix of pears and apples reminds me more of apple juice than hard cider. If you want a decent Woodchuck go with the dark and dry or the amber.

This is the first cider I’ve ever tried. Pours very light yellow with carbonation. Virtually no head. Aroma is like green apple jolly ranchers. The pear flavor comes through a bit and it’s not as sweet as the aroma would suggest. Really an intriguing concept. Very refreshing. I’ll have to try the other ciders to get a better basis for comparison.

Smelled rather medicinal, a slight hint of sour pears mixed with sweetness. Then the flavor is so overly sweet from the sugars that are added and yet this is still medicinal and astringent in the finish. Not enjoyable at all.

Pours almost completely clear like water with a slight yellow tinge. Aroma is fruity and of pears. Flavor is very pearish. And that’s about it. On tap.
