Commercial Description:
For years, we've been telling you that great taste grows on trees -- apple trees that is. But just across the orchard we discovered another kind of great taste. We went out on a limb and created Woodchuck Pear Cider, a crisply refreshing drink with the tantalizing essence of pear. You can buy it in 6-packs or on draft.

I agree pretty much with the previous 2 comments; very light, sweet, pleasant cider but ultimately not much there. No nose to speak of, thin on the tongue and the palate, too sweet with no bite whatsoever. My father used to make cider as a kid, and I have fond memories, so I intend to go through the rest of the Woodchuck line (hey, they’re made 35 miles away!), but this first example does not impress. RERATE: my tolerance for sugar must be going down; there’s some pleasant peariness, but this shit is WAY WAY too sweet and soft-drink-like. Woodchuck’s other stuff is all better, and Flag Hill Farm makes some truly GREAT cider. Seek it out!

Now we are ruining another good beverage by adding more fruit. Nein Nein Frahlein.

Light and refreshing, but nothing too interesting going on here. The pear is dull and there’s too much of it.

Bottle: Pale opaque yellow with no head. Aroma is very faint and lightly fruity. Taste is lightly fruity with a synthetic pear flavor. Not any good.

Rated while drinking: Pours a lemon water color with virtually no head. Mainly smells of pears, but has a weird chemical smell too. Flavor tastes of water that an overripe pear was sitting in for a few days. Almost a citrus aftertaste. Crisp on the palate though. Don’t care for this.

I thought this was water and there was some mistake. Sampled off of a friend’s pour. Mild amount of flavor- very light and unoffensive, unobtrusive. It minds its own business. Not much else to say about this one...

On tap at the Gingerman in Fort Worth. Invisible pour. Rotten fruit aroma. Pear taste is pretty good! Sticky...

Pours almost crystal clear with almost no head. Sweet pear aroma with maybe a hint of apple. Watery body with a very light and crisp flavor of ripe pear. I guess it’s ok for what it is so I couldn’t be too harsh in rating it. Very easy drinking.
