COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For years, we've been telling you that great taste grows on trees -- apple trees that is. But just across the orchard we discovered another kind of great taste. We went out on a limb and created Woodchuck Pear Cider, a crisply refreshing drink with the tantalizing essence of pear. You can buy it in 6-packs or on draft.

Light and refreshing, but nothing too interesting going on here. The pear is dull and thereís too much of it.

Bottle: Poured a pale light yellow color perry with medium carbonation. Aroma consists of light fresh pear juice with medium amount of residual sugars. Easy drinking with limited amount of complexity. It makes for a good drink on hot summer days.

Continuing my current cider kick on some re-reviews. I come to this. This was poured into a pint glass and a wine glass. The appearance was the same in both as it was slightly amber to hazy orange color with a one finger white bubbly head that dissipated within seconds. There wasnít any lacing but still a ton of carbonation was seen rising. The smell definitely had the pears over top of the tart apples helping to balance through the sweetness from the pears. The taste was combined and balanced fairly well. On the palate, the normal harshness I expected from this came but dissipated as it warmed, okay (didnít that happen with another cider I just had by them?, ah okay, no worries). Overall, hmmm...well, not exactly one of the better ciders I just recently had, but do-able to say the least. Woodchuck makes better.

bottle - Pours clear pale yellow and smells like pears. The flavor is sweet with pears but there also seem to be apples in there. I wasnít really expecting the latter. Some quick research indicates that the National Organization of Cider Makers (a UK group) says that perries can contain up to 25% apple juice. The existence of the rule tells me itís probably not unusual to have apples as part of a perry. Here it may be 25%, it may be more. Iíve no idea. Anyway, pardon the digression... the pear taste here isnít as strong as other perries Iíve had and seems rather artificial. Itís an okay drink, but Iím underwhelmed.

355ml bottle. Clear yellow/gold pour. No head. Smell is intense medicine an oncentrated pear. Flavor is medicinal pear, metallic, sweetness. Nto good.

Pale, clear, near white with a green ti.t. goos white head on this cider is a welcome change. Flavor is fake, sweet candy. Are there any pears involved in the making of this? The finish has some tannins and pear flavors but the attraction to the kidz is in th@t up-front sugar rush!

Probably my least favorite out of all the woodchucks. Not terrible, but you could do better.

Tulip pour, faint light golden. Aroma is bubble gum and cotton candy, synthetic. Flavor is candy sugar and light pear notes, but nothing spectacular. I donít love it.

If you love pear youíll love this. Very sweet. Smells just like pear with a hint of apple. Great for a hard cider. wasnít a fan of the apple ciders but this one stands out.

Backlog. Pours straw yellow. Nose and taste of pear, apple and sugar. Lighter medium body. Pretty straightforward.

Bottle. Nose is dusty pear, pours very nearly clear with just a faint yellow tinge, short fizzy white head is gone in a few seconds, above-avg carb. Sweet taste, not too sweet, light-medium body fizzy rather than crisp, faintly tart, no bitterness. Thereís some refreshment to be had here, but the overall flavor is more artificial than even some of their apple offerings.
