Woodchuck Private Reserve Barrel Select is our ultra-limited cider crafted in small batches for a rare taste of sweet, crisp apple cider combined with smoky, dry bourbon flavors. Aged in genuine white oak Kentucky bourbon barrels, this copper-hued gem pairs excellently with cheese, pork roast and chocolate cake. Served best at 50 degrees, Barrel Select is truly an exclusive joy to relish.

Very awesome for a cider. Strong sweetness and sugary, but the bourbon really makes the cider shine.

Crushed a bottle. Aroma is candied apple, vanilla, and maple syrup. Pours amber with a small fizzy head. Taste is caramel apple, slight oak vanilla and pancake maple syrup. Far too much pancake taste for what I was hoping for. Would not repeat this one.

12oz bottle. Pours burnt orange with hints of red. Aroma of wood, smoke, peat, candy apple. Flavor is smoky, wood, apple, caramel. This is my first rating of a cider and I am ridiculously impressed. It is like a sweetened, less harsh bourbon or a much less sweet apple juice that tastes like bourbon. win win.

From notes.....Bottle at home. Oak, caramel, woody, candy apple, sweet. Like liquified alcoholic candy corn. Some maple notes in there, too. Excellent.

Bottle: Pours clear, dark gold...no head. Caramel apple....wood scent. Taste is slightly tart apple-pie, light bourbon, caramel. Sweet, yet dry... Extremely good....very rich.

12 oz. Bottle. Amber color with fast disappearing white head in the snifter. Aroma has light barrel notes with baked apples.

Flavor is a wisp of bourbon, tart apple, with a decent amount of sweetness in the finish. Vanilla oak with some caramel. Texture is very dry as it should be. Really the first cider I had that falls in the medium body range instead of light. Overall, maybe the best cider I have ever sampled. The barrel makes this cider.

Another combination from Woodchuck that I wouldn’t have thought I’d enjoy. Just as advertised, it’s apple cider with some bourbon. Good combination.

I had this one poured out of the bottle. It has a nice copper color, which automatically set it apart from most ciders. It definitely had a nice smokey aroma with vanilla and cinnamon. The flavor is well balanced and complex. I never imagined that a cider aged in bourbon barrels would work so well. This is definitely one of my favorite ciders.
