Tallahassee, Fl - on tap at Proof Brewing Company. Light copper pour, off-white head. Nutty and oaky aroma. Flavor has some bubble gum accents, a nice dollop of oak woodiness, crisp apples and a back end of amaretto. Thick enough mouthfeel. A nice change of pace for a cider.

12 oz. Bottle. Amber color with fast disappearing white head in the snifter. Aroma has light barrel notes with baked apples.
Flavor is a wisp of bourbon, tart apple, with a decent amount of sweetness in the finish. Vanilla oak with some caramel. Texture is very dry as it should be. Really the first cider I had that falls in the medium body range instead of light. Overall, maybe the best cider I have ever sampled. The barrel makes this cider.

Another combination from Woodchuck that I wouldn’t have thought I’d enjoy. Just as advertised, it’s apple cider with some bourbon. Good combination.

I had this one poured out of the bottle. It has a nice copper color, which automatically set it apart from most ciders. It definitely had a nice smokey aroma with vanilla and cinnamon. The flavor is well balanced and complex. I never imagined that a cider aged in bourbon barrels would work so well. This is definitely one of my favorite ciders.

Pours still deep orange into a shaker. No head. Sweet caramel and bourbon aromas. Crisp apple upfront turning to vanilla and bourbon in the soft, lasting pie crust finish.

Pour on tap, dark orange pour with no head, aroma brought notes of apple, vanilla, oak, bourbon, nice earth and spice. Taste is a mix of fruit, apple, hints of oak, bourbon, and vanilla, finishing with some spice. Nicely done.

(bottle - 12 oz) Copper pour with a thin white head. Light apple aroma with a nice hint of the wood and bourbon from the aging. Definite bourbon sweetness at the front that turns into almost a maple syrup taste with the apples. Finishes dry and clean. A bit odd, but kind of nice.

355 ml. Clear amber-copper with a lasting small ring of bubbles. Nose of apples in brown sugar, vanilla, oak and light whiskey. Flavor is more of the same goodness with a bit more crispness from the apple and maybe a faint hint of char in the long aftertaste. Light-medium body is smooth with low-average carbonation, and to the sweet side with the oak and whiskey providing just enough dryness in the finish. Very nice use of the barrel.
