About as gold as a 1974 2 pence piece. Odd copper limned with off white. Might be the wrong colour but it’s a decent bitter with a soft milky mocha-dunked biscuit linger and suspicions of chestnut and hedgerow fruit. Nose of pecan, washy granulated coffee, grilled vegetables and caramel. Long, cashew-like Hobnob biscuit afters. Pleasant. Bottle from Lidl.

Bottle. My first from this brewery in a long time. Golden with a small head. Slightly sweet with a gentle citrus flavour rolling around. Well balanced. An impressive session beer.

2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Cask at White Star, Stoke. Golden with a perfect white head. Very little nose: a bit of hops and citrus. Taste is sweet and salty, with a bit of umami/sour on the way down. Wooden Hand beers are a bit odd in my experience. On another day I would praise them for their bold approach but today I just want a pint. Drinkable but one is certainly enough.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A mid golden orange coloured beer with a frothy white head. A pungent hop aroma, peach and a hint of orange, then a light biscuity malt aroma comes through. Dry mouthfeel. A fruity hop flavour, a tad bitter, pithy grapefruit with peach, is followed by a dry, bready tasting maltiness. The finish is bitter and hoppy.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pint at the Schooner, Gateshead. As a few raters have pointed out, quite dark for a Blond Ale. Dark gold with a tight white head. Fruity aroma. Again, flavours I tend to associate more with bitters: apples and brown bread. A little sweet..
