Commercial Description:
Wooden Shoe Beer originally established in 1869, survived prohibition and became one of the most desired brews of its era. We have reintroduced these renowed brews in commemoration to our community, Oktoberfest and in honor of our German heritage. Enjoy the rich smooth flavors present in these turn of the century recipes. Indulge the nostalgic taste of Wooden Shoe beer as your brew of choice with family and friends.

From the bottle, courtesy of Secret Santa, pours a clear, amber orangish color, decent foamy white head, nice lacing. Very pungent aroma, fruity, rainsins, really strong. Taste is equally strong, very fruity, almost raspberries, a bit tart. I wouldn’t have guessed this is a bock in a blind tasting, rather a fruit beer. Not my favorite.

Clear honey-colored beer, with a fizzy, short-lived head - aroma of honey, wildflowers, aromatic hops, a little bit of dough - starts off a bit sweet and herbal, like sweetened herbal tea - a bit of hops and flowers arrive afterwards - a mild nutty flavor - gets a little spicy at the end - thins out a little in the finish, so the sweetness becomes a bit much - a decent maibock, though - certainly under-rated.

Bottle courtesy of alexsdad06. Pours copper with a dissipating white head. Smells of biscuits and fruit. Tastes of caramel with some sweet malt. Mouthfeel is full with a spicy finish.

Courtesy Amy. An...interesting beer. Very fruity, with some berry and melon notes, also biscuity malt. Did not notice much alcohol flavor. Definitely sweet witha sticky finish. I can’t quite decide if I like the flavor combination or not.
