COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask: Regular. Also Bottle Conditioned.
Originally the house beer for Limes Hotel in Fakenham.
Ingredients: Maris Otter; Crystal malt; Goldings hops.
A full-bodied pale amber beer with the rich flavour of Dundee cake. Sultana fruitiness is balanced by a hoppy bitterness, to give a full, but light feel. The finish continues to develop into a warm, mellow glow

Bottle 50cl. as Bottle Conditioned Norfolk Bitter (from M&S Amsterdam). Clear amber brown color, one finger frothy off-white head, mostly diminishing to a thin layer, some lacing; aroma sweet malts, dried fruits (raisins, dates), basement, light caramel, wet hay; taste moderate sweetbitter, bit burned sugar, light citrus notes; light to medium body, oily texture, bit thin mouthfeel, soft carbonation; mild bitter finish, toasted, earthy notes, too much roastiness in the aftertaste. Strange brew.

Purchased in a 50cl bottle as Marks & Spencerís Norfolk Bitter. Pours very clear with a deep bronze colour and gentle white head. Not much aroma, but the taste starts slightly sweet with a hint of raisins and sultanas and ends with a full Goldings taste. there is a fruity hop flavour but without any strong bitterness. A pleasant bitter, fruity and light without being watery. A well-made beer.

Pint at JDW in Chancery Lane. A: Bronze, clear, small white head, with moderate retention and decent lacing. S: Earthy Fuggles type hop. T: Sweat wheat, with a bitter slightly off fruity finish. M: Low to moderate carbonation, smooth texture, body light enough. O: A beer which fell between two stools, too strong to session, but lacked the character of some others with lower ABV.
