Cask at the Alma, Cambridge. Copper brown, a bit of beige head. The pint has a reasonable amount of natural carbonation. Raisin, biscuity aroma: strong tea, malt. Sweet fruity faste with a bitter finish. Tiny hint of sourness at the very end. Good.

Bottle. Copper color. Aroma is mostly malt. Taste is bitter of course, with some burned malt and a slight touch of citra. Not bad.

Bottle from M&S. Poured a clear medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is aroma is citrus woody hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a light woody metallic hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Aroma average. Appearance good taste bready malt with sultanas. Nice. Average on palate. Must say that I am a little disappointed with this one but given chance will try again. Bit average. Just okay.

bread, toast, earthy aromas from a golden body no real head, tastes burnt with a hint of pepper and smokey chocolate in the aftertaste.

Bottle 50cl. as Bottle Conditioned Norfolk Bitter (from M&S Amsterdam). Clear amber brown color, one finger frothy off-white head, mostly diminishing to a thin layer, some lacing; aroma sweet malts, dried fruits (raisins, dates), basement, light caramel, wet hay; taste moderate sweetbitter, bit burned sugar, light citrus notes; light to medium body, oily texture, bit thin mouthfeel, soft carbonation; mild bitter finish, toasted, earthy notes, too much roastiness in the aftertaste. Strange brew.

Purchased in a 50cl bottle as Marks & Spencerís Norfolk Bitter. Pours very clear with a deep bronze colour and gentle white head. Not much aroma, but the taste starts slightly sweet with a hint of raisins and sultanas and ends with a full Goldings taste. there is a fruity hop flavour but without any strong bitterness. A pleasant bitter, fruity and light without being watery. A well-made beer.

Pint at JDW in Chancery Lane. A: Bronze, clear, small white head, with moderate retention and decent lacing. S: Earthy Fuggles type hop. T: Sweat wheat, with a bitter slightly off fruity finish. M: Low to moderate carbonation, smooth texture, body light enough. O: A beer which fell between two stools, too strong to session, but lacked the character of some others with lower ABV.
