Bottle, 4.5%. Good fruity aroma. Cloudyd orange colour. Citric flavour, hint of plastic. Some metal. Could have been OK, but has some off-flavours.

Gravity cask at Lord Nelson, Burnham Thorpe, Norfolk. Light copper with a small lacy head. Hop nose is reminiscent of Wherry but this has more body from the extra alcohol. Overall a really good beer, that I would have been happy to drink all afternoon.

Bottle conditioned, as M&S ’Norfolk Bitter’. Initially neat Ribena cordial aroma (BLACKCURRANT, with a whisper of strawberry), then something altogether deeper and mustier takes over. It’s fat ripe hedgerow fruit with a waft of onion and green stemmy leafiness= HOPS. It’s brazen, bulbous, very fruity, and shouting "GOLDINGS!!", and I like it. Bright ruby clarity with fine white suds dying to a slick. No surprises beyond the nose, just more berry fruit and biscuit. Tangy red bitter strangely not a million miles from the M&S ’Yorkshire Bitter’ I just saw off. Not especially arsed if it’s a decent brew, and this is. Another impressive offering from Norfolk.

Appearance: Light brown. Small amount of fizzy, shortlived head. Some sediments. Aroma: Malt and some fruit and hops. Taste: Rather bitter, some malt and citric. Bitter, unpleasant aftertaste. Info: 500ml bottle, 22/1-2008
