Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms, Bristol, November 2012. Copper coloured with a decent, off-white head. Heavy cereal malts, tangerine fruit sweetness and a moderately bitter finish. Didn’t do much for me.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 jackl (2596) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 2, 2012
Cask @ JDW, Victoria Station. The pour’s deep gold with a small white head. The nose is musty concord grape, some honey and dried wood. Sweet cereal. The taste is plenty o’ white toast, watered-down honey syrup. Light harvest fruits, a bit of grain. Not much flavor really. Light, waifish body. Overall, boring. One to scroll past.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Jonb5 (241) - Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 30, 2012
Pint from JDW real ale festival. Copper colour, slight haze, one finger head which it held well. Very hoppy aroma, particulary Goldings. Tasted a bit watery, notes of citrus fruit, slightly bittersweet, bitter finish. Thin texture, had a slightly coarse edge, minimal carbonation. Overall looked good, aroma promised much but didn’t quite deliver.
