2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Cask gravity at The Hub at Whittlesey, Saturday 10th January 2015 on Whittlesey Straw Bear weekend (we stopped at Peterborough Central Travelodge) Fairly run of the mill golden. This lacks bitterness and not so hoppy. I guess that I should have known with Woodfordes not to have high hopes. Pretty boring. A5 A4 T6 P2 Ov11 2.8

spruce, dough aromas from a pale gold body and a thin white head, quite smooth and bitter hops in the mouth refreshing aftertaste (ive just had a kebab so it was mightily needed) not bad but bland.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Couple of pints or so from a Polly Pin at a party on 7th June 2014, some 6 miles from the brewery. Light golden with a wisp and collar. Pleasant enough blend, with the malts just about winning in both the aroma and taste stakes. Mildly bitter finish, ideal session garden ale on a warm Norfolk day.

Cask conditioned handpump Vine Norwich 21/08/12. A golden coloured beer with barely any head. A sweetish golden ale with some lemony hops. Malts are a bit too sweet. Drinkable enough but needs more citricity.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tasted this golden ale in the Last Post, Paisley (JDW) in April 2010. Cask, handpump dispense. Excellent appearance with crystal clear orange amber colouration and a thick creamy white head. Floral hops evident in the short aroma. Thin but refreshing mouthfeel and good lacing throughout. Pale malts give succulent lychee fruit notes with a delicate hint of elderflowers. Dry hop resins come through in the well balanced aftertaste and this continues through into the finish. An ok summer session ale that is both light and refreshing. Well recommended.
