Cask, The United Beveren, Chelmsford. Can’t think this one was on top condition. White lacing which is good, golden appearance, floral and perfume nose, grapefruit body, lightly hopped. stringent and doughy yeast, cheesy, ok bitterness, some sulphuric or chemical element which is off-putting, medium finish which is a little fruity but just bland and boring.

Classic pale blonde pint, decent white head. Drinks fairly light and easy going, slightly citrus and grain with a mild bitter finish. Decent enough lightweight beer.

From notes dated 1997. Cask in Bury. Amber color with a large white head that settles slowly to leave decent lacing. Aroma of floral hops, apples and caramel. Flavor is dominated by malt, but also light spice and a nice bitter finish. Nicely complex.

Cask at the Gunmakers. Fine malty body, some fruit and biscuits. Rather short bitter finish. Decent bitter, but nothing remarkable.
