On tap at The Swan (London, UK). Limpid amber body with a thin, lasting off-white creamy head. Fresh malty/hoppy aroma with herbal and flowery hints. Its well balanced malty/hoppy taste carries herbal and grainy notes. Ends with a decent bitter/grainy finish. Average Bitter.

Cask in the Pickerel, Cambridge. Amber coloured bitter, quite a light overall beer but tasty malt and just enough hop to make it moreish. Tasty, and not strong so a good session beer.

I’ve drank this in the brewery tap and on many occasions in Norfolk, but strangely never reviewed it before. This review is of a pint, hand pulled into a standard UK sleeve glass in the Prince of Wales pub on Drury Lane, London (opposite The Lowlander Cafe) Oct 2011. The body is light amber and almost clear, a slight haze hangs in the glass, on top a white head struggled to keep afloat, it slowly faded away leaving a wispy covering surrounded by a thicker collar. Many smells came into my nose (the pub was full), but I think the beer gave off aromas of caramel biscuits, lightly baked and dropped into a box of pink-grapefruit before being used in the brew! The taste was a good mix of flavours, mini citrus notes and those caramel biscuits from the smell marry together nicely: this is so easy to drink. A lovely brew and one that can be sessioned, only 3.8% ABV, but full of character and quality.

Tasted at Winchester Beer Festival. Tasty session bitter. Good flavour for the alcohol content. Malty aromas, slightly yeasty with sufficient level of hops to make this a good thirst quencher. I have also previously made the licensed homebrew kits to this recipe and found them to be good.

On cask at Cloisters. Pours a golden colour with a decent white head. Aroma of musty honey, yeast and caramel. Similar flavours. Mild carbonation, an oily mouth-feel and a dry finish. Nice.

Sampled this bitter in the Three Marys, Linlithgow in April 1993. Cask, handpump dispense. Pale amber in colour with a thin white creamy head. Nice malty aroma with refreshing mouthfeel and good lacing. . Pale malt complexes giving a digestive biscuit base lacd with golden syrup and a sweet fruity spangle flavour. Dry hop resin evident in the lemony citric aftertaste. Finish is sweet with barley sugar notes in the mouth. A decent session bitter.
