Bland and inoffensive. Not much on the nose, with a thin body and short finish. Poor stuff , bearing little resemblance to the original of a few years since.

Nice drinkable session beer. Slightly hoppy on the finish. Golden color. Very little aroma. Had at the Blue Posts in London.

Cask @ The Phoenix Tavern, Faversham. Clear, slightly reddish, golden body with a small and fast disappearing off-white head. Aroma has caramel malt, some fruitiness and unfortunately some butterscotch. Flavor is as aroma, with some minor and not to unpleasant level of butterscotch. Medium body, not so much aftertaste. Otherwise rather straightforward bitter that’s easy forgotten.

Crisp floral bitter. Flowery sweet aroma belies the complex malt/hop balance in the taste. Slight palette.

UPDATED: OCT 28, 2013 Garden House. Clear tan body with a creamy white head. Floral, citrus hops with a cereal maltiness in the aroma. Grainy malt flavour, pleasant fruity citrus hops, with a fresh bitterness. Medium body with a soft effervescence. Very solid default bitter in Norfolk, especially good if kept well and served from a colder cellar.

Cask at the Pickerel, Cambridge. Pours clear gold with a fine, creamy white head. Dusty, dry pale malts on the nose, some toasty grains. Light sweet flavor with dry hay, orange and grains. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Light sweet finish, dry pale malts, dry hay, straw. Simple stuff.

Fruity verging on being a little bit tart. Not much character and slightly weak palate but perfectly acceptable session beer.

Cask at the Kingston Arms, Cambridge. Poured golden brown with a thin white short-lived head. Not much in the aroma, but the flavour was nice and bitter. Nothing special. A half decent session ale but a taste was good enough for me.

Tap at The Museum Tavern. Pours clear golden amber with a small off white head leaving small laces. Aroma is malty fruity and hoppy. Flavor is malty bitter fruity and dry towards the end. Finishes dry fruity.

Tasted cask at The Rising Sun, London on 18 May 2012. Clear amber appearance, of-white foamy small head, a hint of cherry aroma, medium hoppy taste, low carbonation, medium finish. A well balanced bitter.
