kempicus (230), Wellington, New Zealand May 28, 2007 A very hard beer to rate, it’s almost perfectly balanced so nothing really stands out and yet it does it’s job so well. It’s fruity but with enough bitterness to balance it. It is a much better beer on cask that out of the bottle!
EFC1878 (176), Manchester, Greater Manchester, England Nov 1, 2008 Robert Peel, Bury. Slightly hazy medium brown colour with a decent white head. Hoppy/malty aroma. Decent fruit flavour with a dry/bitter finish. Good session beer. reakt (880), Greater London, England Oct 20, 2008 JDW @ Victoria Station. Poured a hazed amber with an off white head. Grassy, metallic hops and sweet malts in the nose. Taste is much the same, grassy with sweet biscuity malts and a honey note. Quite well balanced and quaffable. fonefan (6078), Ulfborg, Denmark Oct 1, 2008 Cask (handpump) @ The Fat Cat, Norwich, England NR2.
Clear medium yellow orange amber color with a small to average, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, old malt, old apples. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average duration. Body is medium to light, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. (310708) Skinnyviking (3023), Copenhagen, Denmark Aug 15, 2008 Draught. Low but lasting fluffy white head. Hazy amber body. Mild fruity caramel aroma and flavor with little hops bitterness. Low carbonation and a short aftertaste. wyzzywyz22 (498), Wirral, Merseyside, England Jul 22, 2008 Cask, Irish Pub next to St Andrews Hall Norwich. A pre wedding pint prior to Guy’s wedding. I fear that this wasn’t in the best condition as I was expecting a lot more from this. Came over as lacking any real body or character; watery and thin with a bland vaguely stale aroma. Will re rate at some point.
