Mes_and_Sim (4176), London, Greater London, England May 10, 2008 A Mes rate: Gravicask at Reading Beer Festival. Very dark brown with a slight red hue and a thin beige rim. Tremendously bready, slight butter, earthy malt, late coffee bitterness in a dry finish. Straight forward drinkable mild. Nice enough, just not a big scorer.
fonefan (4328), Ulfborg, Denmark Jun 23, 2008 Cask gravity @ Reading Beer Festival 2008. Clear dark red brown color with a average, fizzy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, roasted, cold coffee, barnyard, earth, notes of chocolate and vanilla and licorice. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration. Body is medium to light, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is flat. (030508) albertane (247), Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England Apr 20, 2008 Cask at the Lincolnshire Poacher, Nottingham. I thought this was a decent mild; it’s an attractive reddish-brown colour with the usual chocolate and roast flavours and perhaps some sourness. leaparsons (3878), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Apr 16, 2008 Cask, Loughborough Fest 08. Dark brown with a small head. Aromas are dry and earthy with weetabix. Quite yeasty. Flavours are weetabix and chocolate malts with dry, roast coffee. Dry on the finish. Has some hints of cardboard, but not a bad mild. RichardGretton (2603), Leicestershire, England Mar 9, 2008 Cask@Loughborough Beer Festival 2008. Black beer with a reddish tinge. The aroma is roasted and dry, and the flavour is roasted and lightly dry. Overall a nice roasted and lightly dry beer.
