3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 harrisoni (10911) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - JAN 14, 2008
UPDATED: SEP 19, 2009 Cask handpull at Thomas Ingoldsby, JDW, Canterbury. Copper colour with disappearing head. Aroma of diacetyl. Hard buttery aroma. Some bitterness on end, but ultimately poor due to the diacetyl. 1.8/5 Re-rate, bottle from Sainsbury during beer festival . Clear darkish gold, thin white head. Some fruit salad and hop aroma. Vague Cascades. Biscuity malts. Biscuity pale malts here are the best thing about this. Really good digestive biscuit hints. Some ok fruit and some slightly biting hops. Given my previous rating this was a hell of a lot better than I was expecting. Love the biscuit malt and slight aggressive hop. More my kind of beer.

Bottled, 500ml from Sainsburys, Banbury. Gold with white head. Ok, a little on the thin side, but this is a pleasant enough beer, grassy, citrus hops over a slightly citrusy body, a trifle sweet, but quite refreshing. Just enough bitterness to keep the interest. Reasonable.

Cask conditioned - handpump - Last Plantaganet, Leicester. A slightly hazy yellowy orange coloured beer with a white head and lacing. The aroma is citrus with some pineapple notes. The taste is nice and fresh with good citricity. A nice zingy mouthfeel reminiscent of fizz bombs from the 70s. Really nice and a bit of a surprise.

bottle from a delicatessen in Ross-on-Wye. Hazy golden colour, small white head. Citrusy nose. Light-bodied, malty with lots of fruity flavours and lovely citrusy hop flavours. A bit too light (thin?) perhaps.
