canary dog (376), Rutland, Vermont, USA Apr 26, 2008 A very nice, clean brew. Has an understated hoppiness-- it’s a hoppy beer, but it is not as strong as most IPAs, which it of course is not. Hops give way to malt and they play equal roles. Just right for a Pale Ale.

Very inviting aroma of caramel and lemony pine hops. Almost clear amber with an island of white. Nice hoppy flavour up front, with toffee and then buttery diacetyl, but too much bitterness for the driness. Light body and empty dry bitter. Some nutty notes. Good on the aroma, but poor execution in the taste. Holdwine (821), Beertimore, Maryland, USA Jun 29, 2008 Good enough pale ale, enough hops to qualify, but not dry enough for an IPA in my book. Easy to drink with a nice wet hay malt. tylerss20 (89), New Hampshire, USA Jun 28, 2008 Really really subpar offering from woodstock. Aroma was great, filled with pine and flowers. Looks great, light orange pour. Taste is much worse, hop and nothing else. There is no ensemble, no balance. Tangy, sour and dirt bitter without any of the well-rounded character that makes Ruination and Long Trail unfiltered superior IPAs in my opinion. VTHopHead (666), Barre, Vermont, USA May 26, 2008 Bottle - Poured a nice amber in color with a medium off-white head. Aroma is of flowery hops with hints of sweet malt. Flavor is a bit understated, but definitely hoppy. A bit disappointing for and IPA. Not nearly as hoppy and bitter as I like in an IPA. An slightly less than average IPA that might be best called just a pale ale. puboflyons (368), New Hampshire, USA May 17, 2008 From a 355 ml. bottle with an expiration date of Aug. ’08. Pours a handsome amber color with off-white head. Hops in the aroma. Medium mouth feel. There are hops in the flavor too but also something lightly fruity. ANd it tastes clean. I like it because it’s a bit milder than the typical IPA.
