2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Nearly cloyingly sweet brown ale, syrupy, like a pecan pie made by someone who doesn’t know how to bake and forgot to add pecans but didn’t burn it or do a totally horrible job at it.

For a brown ale, this one had a lot of flavor. Not terribly malty but plenty and a good mouth feel. Not watery like many weak Brown Ales. Some hop but not much. I like it better than most brown ales. Nice deep Amber color. More character than what I expected. Pleasant surprise!

Pretty wussy. But I guess for a brown ale it's ok. I am about to try the double pigs ear so let's see if I like that better.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: APR 2, 2015 Bottle from Signal Variety, Plaistow NH. Aroma is malty and slightly nutty. Appearance is a beautiful, clear, dark amber with insignificant, fleeting white head. Taste is moderately sweet. Palate is light-medium body with average carbonation--perhaps a tinge too much. Finish is long with good, nutty sweetness. Overall, a good medium ale that satisfies.

On tap. 2nd favorite brew from this establishment. Pours brown with a tan clingy head. All malt and caramel in the nose. Flavors are the same – sweet, smooth malty goodness with a characteristic common to most of their brews that (others have noted maple) really works for me. Finish leaves me wanting more. This is what I pick for a growler to go.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Got this at the beer store in Nashua. Yes, its brown fer sure. Dark brown. Nice creamy head. Smell of J&L slag on blast-furnace night in Aliquippa while watch a movie at ABC drive in. I see tis 4.3% and I like that. One of the better brown ales I’ve come in contact with. Goes down easy, yes. Has a personality but its never in yer face, good job.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Purchased on a trip to Vermont in a small convenient store. Lots of carbonation creating a light overflow, and a big creamy-frothy beige head that stays very long. The brew is a deep amber colour and gives out aromas of apples at first pour. Then, nutty yeast appears. Fruity malt taste with light yeast and some decent hops. Good, but not my thing.
