3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 hockeybeerguy (212) - Portland, Maine, USA - APR 7, 2013
Into a pint glass, it leaves a brown colored body, two finger white foamy head quickly dies and leaves spider web lacing; the smell has malts, toffee, light nuttiness, light honey, the taste is malty and sweet, nutty aftertaste and a quick sweet almost dry finish; the palate was light to medium, very sessionable, gets creamy and smooth; overall, this is pretty good for an English Brown Ale, I recommend if you like the style

Aroma of caramel, soda, sweet bread. Nice foamy, nutty taste, hardy. Seems like something that would go well in a metal tankard while singing drinking songs.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 alexanderj (3082) - Gilbert, Arizona, USA - DEC 20, 2012
On tap at the brewery in 2010; poured an auburn tinted brown. Aroma of caramel and nuts mostly. Flavor was the same but a bit more sweetness to it. A solid version of a style I generally like.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 johnnnniee (1563) - Bedford, New Hampshire, USA - OCT 18, 2012
Pours a dark clear reddish brown color with a huge bubbly tan head that slowly recedes before leaving some spotty lace on the way down. Smells of caramel and brown sugar with a hint of tart fruit, earth, roast and butter. The flavor is heavy on the caramel and butterscotch with an earthy hop bite that provides some balance. Medium body with a moderate to high level of carbonation and a creamy bubbly mouthfeel. So far this is the only brew I’ve had where I feel the diacytyl actually adds something to the beer. This is probably my favorite beer from Woodstock, but its still just an average beer.
