COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
American Double IPA brewed with Amarillo, Centennial, Chinook, Summit and Calypso hops. Buddha’s hand and grapefruit peel are added at the end of the boil to reinforce the citrus qualities of the American hops. Buddha’s hand is a variety of citron with long fingers and no fruit inside. Intense zest and flavorful but not bitter pith contribute to the juicy hop profile of this unique brew.

UPDATED: JUN 28, 2015 I’m a big fan of this newly released DIPA. The aroma is very floral with vague hints of citrus. The flavor is packed to the gills, dank resiny floral citrus grapefruit with a crisp bitter finish. It’s essential to let this warm in the glass for 10-15 minutes before enjoying. The only thing preventing a perfect score is the use of Chinook hops which unfortunately tends to exaggerate the illusion of dry pith.

Pours clear deep gold into a shaker. White head with good retention recedes leaving spot lacing to coat surface. Dark caramel and citrus aromas. Lemongrass and hot toffee front to back. Lasting sweet dank resin finish. Old school dipa.

Poured a hazy light orange with a white head. Aroma was of citrusy booze and caramel. Flavor was candy, fruity, bitterness, as ND booze. Not my favorite.

12oz bottle into glass. Bottled 1 26 16, nice. Pours a deep orange Amber with rustic tones. Nice creamy head, light lacing. Aroma of grapefruit, grapefruit peel, orange juice, grass, citrus all over. Taste of grapefruit everywhere, melon, hops, more grass, weed, bready granola, pine, Amber malt tones. This is great. Abv melds nicely, a tart bitterness in the end. Smooth all the way.

On tap at the brewery. Nice orange color with a quite unique fruity aroma provided by the unusual fruit rind added to the mix. Light, easy drinking, apricot and tangerine flavors, hoppy but not bitter. I was unaware of the ABV when I was drinking it and was quite surprised to find out how strong this one actually is. Definitely a brew in a class by itself. Excellent.

This is one of the best, unique DIPA I’ve ever had. Fragrant floral notes. Hop rich with sweet, grapefruit taste. Epic.

(Rating #6404)

sample at mondial de la bière 2015 - mtl. unclear medium dark golden with acreamy off-white cap, good retention and lacing. minty citrus, spicy caramel, sweet toasts, very floral - lavender perhaps; ginger shoots, perfumey sprucey gum, some roasted chilies (!), tingling booze, spices, clean yeast action. light carbonation, medium body - oily and a bit heavy; semi-sweet yet assertive grassy-spicy-piney finish. old-school-ish - almost unique floral and spicy offering.

(Mondial 2015, again, not sure how long this bottle was kept open) Pours a medium copper with a medium offwhite head that leaves nice lacing. Nose is of caramel, perfume, citrus and grass. Taste is moderately sweet and bitter and loaded with caramel. Both body and carbonation were medium and mouthfeel a little syrupy. Overall a different kind of DIPA, better than their Hopulence to me but still nothing special.
