COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed with an abundance of hops. Once we started hopping this beer stopping was impossible. Emphasizing Amarillo, Horizon, Summit, and Glacier hops with support from 5 other American varieties. Hops were added in every conceivable part of the brewing process. Whole leaf in the mash, hop forwarded (lautered through whole cones), hop backed, first wort hopped, kettle hopped with pellets and extract, and dry hopped in the fermenter and brite tanks. No expense was spared to bring you HOPULENCE!

Poured from a bomber into a stemmed La Fin Du Monde glass. The color is a hazy orange with three fingers of foamy white head and some nice lacing left on the glass. The smell is bright fruity aroma that is a little dank but brings a juicy grapefruit and a touch if passion fruit in the nose. There is a true grassy aroma there in the nose as well giving a strong summertime feel. The taste is grassy and really brings the hops but without the bitterness at first. Juicy grapefruit again is here with some tangy lemon-like flavor that gives a bit of a zing. The grassy flavor comes back with a bitter bite at the end giving a touch of a bitterness that only holds onto you for a moment and then let’s go. The feel of this beer is smooth with a nice medium body. A really nice drinkable feel that adds to the good flavor enhances this beer.

From the 650 ml. bottle dated April 2014. This is fairly fresh. It pours a copper-orange tone with a big, foamy white head that lingers to the finish. The aroma has a bite of floral and pine hops with a good pinch of toasted malts. It is not explosively hoppy for a DIPA but it is agreeable to my senses. The body is medium. The taste captures the fine balance between the biscuit malts and the overzealous hop character that often accompanies DIPA’s. Easy drinking beer.

Pour is a lightly hazed deep amber with a white head and some large bubbles. Nose has a light sweet malt make up with some sticky caramel and a bit of grain. Hops are citrus, pineapple and resin but lighter. Taste is pretty nice, malts balance, they would lean to the sweet side. Grains are much more faint mid palate with tropical fruits coming in behind. Grapefruit and mango. Body is larger, soft, a bit syrupy, gently carbonated.

UPDATED: MAR 17, 2014 Wormtown has come very close to perfection with this now year-round DIPA. The aroma and flavor remind me a bit of Port’s High Tide IPA which I tend to hunt down every fall. This beer is monstrously bitter with notes of citrus dominating the hop profile. Very crisp and clean, there is no noticeable malt flavor and no harsh aftertaste. A hop bomb indeed, just the way I like it.

On tap @ Peppercorns (Wormtown brewery). Pours unfiltered deep amber. Subtle hop nose. Strong malt up front masks the hop bite that hits late. A bit too heavy on the malt, takes away from the bitterness, but a Good local DIPA ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Battleship. Pours cloudy golden amber color. Thick white head. Aroma is of malts, grass, lactic, hops and some bread. Thicker palate. Flavor is of hops, slight booze, citrus, malts and more hops. Still seams a little hot. Leaves a dry citrus hip finish. Thirst quenching.

Hazed golden-orange with a soft white head. Light but complex aroma of hops...pine and citrus peel. Dry character with piney orange peel taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap. Pours hazy golden with a thin white head. Pine dominates the nose with citrus undertones. Drinks smoothly with mild bitterness in the finish. Lots of harmonious hop notes, doesn’t just blast you with discordant bitterness. Really solid.

A very well-made IIPA. Its wonderful long-lasting palate-feel is fantastic. The aroma is mild despite this. Slightly missing something to make it world-class.
