Cask; Occasional.
A light, blond ale brewed with both barley and wheat malts which give a light biscuity backdrop to the taste of the beer. The subtle bitterness comes from the Brambling Cross hops that add a slightly spicy note to the flavour and, combined with Cascade and Centennial hops, give a citrus aroma with hints of blackcurrant. The mouth-feel is light which leads to a refreshing beer that, in typical Burton fashion, balanced the sweet malty flavour with the subtle bitterness in this distinctive ale.

easily drinkable, well balanced beer, that I preferred to its more illustrious brother. White.

Poured from a 500ML bottle into a pint glass. Aroma - Has a solid British brew aroma, earthy but not offending Appearance- A clear somewhat pale yellow color with a giant white head. Taste - Strong malt and yeast flavor, I found it very enjoyable. Palate - Heavy carbonation with a light bodied beer made this an interesting feel. I liked it. Overall - A good beer that I would drink again.

500ml bottle. Pours a clear amber/gold. Thin white head dissipates quickly. Weak hop aroma of berrires, floral. Light taste of same.

Pint bottle. Clear amber gold with a fizzy off white head. Carbonation is visible floating up. A little spice and a little fruit. Just a little bitterness, too. Malts are kind of doughy. There is just not a lot going on in this one. It is generally sweet and easy to drink.

Pint, bottle. Cloudy copper orange, fizzy, floral, and bready on the nose. Rose petal, caramel, bread dough, chewy, some grass and mustyness. Bubbly yet a touch thin in the finish. Got more interesting and flavorful the further I got with it. Very drinkable.

500ml bottle. Pours golden. 1 finger head dissappears, little lacing. Taste is soft, light with slight malty finish. Full mouth feel which expands in your mouth with big bubbles. The taste lingers. A nice light easy drinking beer.

Bottle. Golden with a small head. Slightly bitter with a medium body.Is this really a Burton Ale as its says on the bottle? I just thought it was pretty boring. Not in the same league as White Shield.

Bottle from B&M Bargains, Barrow-in-Furness. Golden with a thin head. Hoppy with a pleasant pale ale light citrus fruit aroma, texture and taste which is slightly dry. Fizzes somewhat in the palate.

Perfect pour before the head disappeared before my eyes. Light gold with pure white head. Other than that, it’s JUST beer.

Bottle from B&M. A golden ale with a quickly fading white head. I had high hopes for this given the reputation of White Shield. Boy was I disappointed. Very fizzy and lacking in flavour. It could almost be a lager. A little citrus and marmalade, but not much. Poor.

Appearance: Clear golden amber with finger thick white head. Aroma: Raisins, berry fruit, musky, bready, malty, mineral, floral and note of tangerine and marmalade. Taste: Low/medium sweetness, low bitter and sourness. Palate: Thin coarse texture, light body, average carbonation, abrupt fruity and malty finish. Comments: Good and easy to drink.
