3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Very tough beer. One of the breweries highest in alcohol. The atypical in your face Pacific North-West IPA.

Pours a completely clear orange-amber with a little bit of white head and even less lacing. Not much aroma at first, but warms up to some light malt, grapefruit and just a tiny bit of floral hop in the nose. Taste is bitter and spicy in a West Coast bitter dry hop way but fades quite quickly. Body is sharp and crisp with decent amount of carbonation. Not big enough to be labelled an IIPA, I think, but a very decent, drinkable IPA.

Clear amber pour with white head and thin lacing. Low expectations due to surprisingly low rating, but was pleasantly surprised by Worthy's IPA so hard to say. Grapefruit aroma, quite sweet and hoppy. Crisp hoppy bitterness - resin and fruit. Rich. Good - would think it was a regular IPA more than DIPA but still quite good and drinkable.

From a firkin at Green Dragon for the 7th Annual Firkin Fest. Light yellow color. Light citrus aroma. Taste is tropical citrus and sweet malts. Quite light for an imperial IPA.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
22 picked up last week at Brewer’s Haven in Boise... Poured tonight into my GT 25th tulip... slightly hazed darker golden... decent enough white head with an okay cap... middle of the road lacing.
The nose is pretty well done.. good citrus and tropical fruit notes... a bit of a floral essence with warmth... smells like it is going to have a thicker malt presence.
Flavor is okay too... I like my DIPA’s drier with significantly less pale maltiness... I think it mutes the bitterness AND the hop flavors and I think I am certainly right in this case... hop flavors show as a sorta tangerine zest that blooms with the malts, but is still not focused enough.
Body is a touch thick for an 8.5% DIPA.
Despite all my above "negatives", this is a good beer.

Bottle:   Orange side of golden, small to moderate frothy white head, little lacing.   Soft sweet nose of straw and corn, a little mealy, and has a touch of dank cheesiness.   It reminds me of Mirror Mirror a bit, albeit this one is very minor.   Not a big maltiness, nor big hoppiness for an Imperial IPA.   On the tongue its a little dank, muted citrus peel, low bitterness.   Not bad, but not remarkable either.   Slight touch of alcohol.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full.   Does seem to be a bit chewy at least.   Finishes a bit bready, with that dank citrus peel note.   Tiz alright.

Bottle - Grapefruit, tropical fruits and some mild pine. Light clear copper with a bubbly white head. Sweet tropical fruits and a bit of resin with a good malt backbone. Decent double but nothing spectacular.

On tap @ Chuck’s 85th. Pours slightly cloudy orangish amber with thin white head. Aroma is earthy caramel malt and fresh piney hops. Taste is light caramel malt with bitter hops. Fairly light malt for a DIPA and the hops have plenty of bitterness but not much flavor. Quite eager to try the other offerings from Worthy, but this is a pretty average DIPA.

Bomber. Lots of malt with hops hidden in the background. Medium body and medium bitterness. Bitterness is more tangy than pine. Well balanced and easy to drink. A tasty enough brew but too sweet for an IPA and not enough kick for an IPA.
