Very tough beer. One of the breweries highest in alcohol. The atypical in your face Pacific North-West IPA.

22 oz bottle poured and split. Pours a hazy light orange color with a huge foam head. Soft bready malt aroma. Flavor matches, and is fairly light. Doesn’t really taste imperial to me. Hops mostly in the finish. Lighter than expected, but a good beer overall. Enjoyed this.

Lagerboy (1445) - British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 7, 2015
Bomber. Clear paler orange, fading thin white foam. Foresty fruity aroma, orange zest. Piney fruity taste, soapy, oily and floral, mild pale c-malt, grapefruit, some spice, lean and dry, a bit harsh. Soft carbonation, medium bodied, well hopped. An unworthy atypical PNW IIPA. NFL (Not For Lagerboys)

Bottle at Imazato. Orange-golden color with lace. Nose of orange, grapefruit, biscuirts. A bit syrupy, but nice citrus flavor, solid bitterness and good, crisp carbonation. A likeable big IPA.

maekchu (2509) - Hirakata, JAPAN - DEC 23, 2014
Bottle from Sugaya. Big fruity nose, peach and citrus, large caramel, and some grass. Orange/amber color, 2-cm head, and some reluctant, sticky lace. Big malty initial, piney hops, doesn’t really go to balance. Final moves to an overripe date note. Medium-heavy body. Pretty good, overall. Doesn’t have the aggressive rush of malt or hops of many imperial IPAs. A really good imperial should knock your hat off with the first sip; this one merely gives you a nasty glance, and then walks on by...

22oz bottle in Seattle. Darker clear orange, small foam. Mild dense hop aroma, I imagine this isn’t as fresh as we’d like it. Smooth sweet body, apple fruitiness. Some bittering.

Hazy orange with thin white head. Aroma of pineapple and guava and taste is the same, but taken down a notch by some English character. $4/22oz

22 oz bottle from Portland Fruit West in Beaverton, OR. Pours clear. Aroma has notes of resin, hay, and white wine, with a hint of sweet bubblegum. Mouthfeel starts crisp and dry, and somehow finishes smooth and a bit creamy, with a short, bitter aftertaste. Masks the alcohol very well. A unique and pretty great DIPA!

Poured from a 22oz. Pours a light amber color, doesn’t look like a strong beer at all. It drinks very easy and smooth. Initial nose is sweet like tropical fruit but gives way to a grassy aroma. Taste is very well balanced and ever so slightly bitter. This is just a very easy drinking 8.5%-er!

On tap at Darby's. Pours a clear straw yellow with a low lying fine bubble whit cap that doesn't change. Aroma of biscuit, brown sugar, pink grapefruit, tropical fruit. Taste is pretty sweet with a pleasant bitterness. Mouthfeel is clean, with a slight bit of stickiness.

Clear light amber color with ivory head. Tooty fruity tropical fruit, pine hoppy aromas. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Nice tropical fruit, pine, light citrusy hoppy bitter flavors with some dry hay, dust____nicely bitter drying finish---very tasty.
