Lasting medium creamy off-white head atop an opaque body. Nose of coffee and ash. Smooth milky front with some mid-palate tonic coffee. The alcohol is fairly well hidden while a glimpse of dark chocolate ales a late appearance as the beer warms. Purchased at Penny Farthing in Oak Bay.

Can, picked up on a whim at Homebrewstuff. Dark brown pour, light khaki head. Small bits of lacing. I’m really liking the nose on this... sweet with cocoa and faint vanilla. Elegant. Coffee and coca in the taste, less sweet and emphasis on the coffee and roasted malts. Sort of light in the body, but I wouldn’t say watery. Finishes well; lingering cocoa bittersweet.

Super dark brown, little bit of light getting through. 1 finger tan head. Wow, really nice stout that doesn’t reflect the 71 rating. Smell is chocolate and vanilla. Taste is chocolate, some roast, and slight vanilla. Very creamy, nice deep mouth feel. This one surprised me, pleasantly.

UPDATED: OCT 2, 2014 (Can) Smells nice and dark with some dark fruity notes. Taste is more bitter than I like. Surprisingly it taste a little thin too. Not great.

A little light in color, body and complexity for my tastes. Medium to dark brown w khaki head, body of a smaller beer. Vanilla prevalent with hints of coffee chocolate and caramel but pretty simple. Tasty enough, but not much going on. One timer

Lighter weight and not so bitter stout. Not getting any of the coffee, but a hint of chocolate malts. Dark brown, but not opaque. Small head, very un-stoutlike. Dark chocolate bitterness on the finish.

Fresh 12 oz can (canned on date of 27 May 2014). Large foamy beige head over a dark, clear, nearly opaque brown body. Superior retnetion and lacing. Feel: creamy and foamy like a good rootbeer float. Medium-full body. Flavor/aroma: Vanilla is clearer in the aroma but present throughtout tasting. Slightly sweeter than average, but excellent bitter/sweet balance.given the vanilla. \

Black body with tan head. Powdered sugar, dark roast malt, mild coffee aromas. Medium bodied. Semi sweet chocolate, dark roast coffee, sweetened condensed milk flavors___nicely bitter finish---good.

Black color with creamy beige head. The aroma is mild. The mouthfeel is lean and soft; it has some chocolate flavor, light roasted malts, light oxidisation; correct bitterness.
Good beer, more Imperial Mild than Stout.

Can from Ezo Beer. Served in a snifter. Plum, vanilla, roasty, chocolate, cream soda in the nose. A fairly light body with a somewhat silky mouthfeel. The taste is roasty dark malts wrapped up in vanilla with a definite cream soda vibe coming into play. A fairly unique stout, decent. That hefty dose of vanilla makes it come across fairly sweet. Pair with chocolate or vanilla ice cream.
