this was ok too. I see what they were going for with the apa/bitter hybrid, but that doesn’t mean it was necessary. an ok example of both, but an underhopped ipa or a slightly bright bitter...

Salmoniform (824) - Sweet Home, Oregon, USA - SEP 9, 2014
Poured from can to glass. Amber hue with fizzy white head that dissipated to a ring. Aroma is faint pine, grassy, grapefruit, cardboard. Mouthfeel is decent with a medium light body and soft carbonation. Taste is dry with a average bitterness following and a slight oxidized finish. Overall this brew comes across a bit watery and oxidized.

Pours out with a nice silky, lasting head. All else is pretty average, faint hoppy aroma, citrus, taste is grapefruit, but kind of flat, not much of a finish, bordering on watery.

Dry crisp pale ale if somewhat overhopped for the style. Lovely nose, nice long finish but middle was a bit empty. Enjoyable regardless.

Fresh citrus, weed. Nice citrus bite and decent biscuit maltiness, ricola, hoppy bitter finish. Quite a hoppy pale ale, almost like an ipa and surprisingly smooth.

At rental house in Bend with Taylor on a Friday night after getting back from Crux. Pours bronze with some fluffy head that goes away. Aroma is cat piss earthy and floral hops. Taste is slick cat piss, water, thin body, some resinous earthy hoppy notes, leaves, hint of sweet malt.

Draught @ Portland Craft, Vancouver, BC

Pours amber orange with a smooth head. Aroma of earthy malts, caramel and toffee. Taste is smooth, malty and caramely with some earthiness. Finish is sweet, malty and caramely. Feels almost like an ESB.

Can:   Sweet tea up front, mild bitterness that lingers long.   A little stale and musty.   Soft pith and peel.   Not bright, but has a decent sweetness.   Moderate example.   Not all that exciting.
