A hybrid of ale and lager and between amber and brown in color, this beer is of the Northern German Altbier style. A nice amount of biscuit, toffee, and caramel in the malt aroma and flavor. These malt characters are noticeable at the forefront and fade to a dry finish; with a nice lingering, but not strong bitterness. Tons of flavor, but easy drinking for the warmer Atlanta days. Draft pour at the Wrecking Bar. Deep amber color with a one finger head. Powerful aroma of malts, toffee, caramel, and bread/dough. The taste was well balanced with heavy malts, bread, and caramel. Medium full body with serious flavors and a creamy finish.

On tap at the pub. Chewy grain and caramel toffee flavors. Dry finish. Frothy white head adding some texture. Red fruit aroma that seems a little off maybe yeast.

Pours a slightly hazy mahogany with a thick and fine-bubbled buff head. Malty aroma has hints of caramel and cloves. Bold flavor has malty, caramel, clove, earthy and subtle hoppy notes. Firm mouthfeel has fizz and tingle to spare. Oh Atlanta - dang, now that Little Feat song won’t get out of my head--

Draft at the brewpub with Linh, Scarlett and mom. Pours a deep dark amber with thin off white lacing. Aroma is sweet malt and some light spice. Mouthfeel is medium with lots of spice upfront; additional notes of sweet malt, light bitter pine and earthy roast. Strange, not a huge fan.

Tap. Dark brown in color with tan head. Mild aroma of caramel. Taste of malt, carmel and dough.Sweet aftertaste. Medium bodied. I bought a growler to take to a party and it was a big hit. Everyone enjoyed it. It’s a decent beer.

11/9/13. On tap at Bleu Pub... Walked down the street. Woohoo, more Georgia rates! Dark amber pour, almost brown, under a small khaki head that fades away and doesn’t lace much. Very mild aroma, touches of bread and cracker, mild caramel. Malty flavor, sweet caramel, a sort of off astringency, saltines, lingering biscuit aspect, doughy and even like flour in a way, sits husky as well. Okay.
