COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our 2nd generation Kolsch uses the lightest German Koln and Heidelberg malts available. Just enough hops for balance and brew water adjusted to match Koln, resulting in a very light crisp beer.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear gold with a medium sized white head. Soft grain on the nose, crisp and sweet. Medium bodied, grainy and sweet, crisp and with a light citrus hint. Finishes with a touch of sweetness, malt and grain. Easy drinking.

A good kolsch is a great beer and this is a good kolsch. Wonderful peppery hops over a dry malt. I’d totally stock this for football drinking if it were legal in this state.

Clean good pour, white head. Totally crisp and clean. No off flavors. Simple yet quite tasty. Good stuff.

A sweet beer with light hop and excellent mouthfeel for ABV. Excellent aroma of grain and honey sweetness. Thin fading head. Probably the best Kolsch I’ve had in the US.

Tap shared by jheath99. Clear apple juice in color with no head. Aroma of earth and malts. Taste of malts and lots of carbonation. It’s okay

Tap from Lazy Dog. Pours a transparent golden with almost no head. Aroma of malts and grass. Taste of super light malt and hops

Draft pours a nice clear yellow color with a nice white head. Aromas of bready malt, hay, slight yeast. A simple beer, but a very nice example of the style

Atlanta, Ga. - on tap at the brewpub. Light golden pour, a bit of murkiness, with a crisp snow white head, decent film of lacing. Aroma has a hint of vanilla with some buttery accents. Flavor is similar in fashion with the some honey sweetness thrown in for good measure. Buttery accents have a bit of nuttiness along with it. Crisp and quaffable is the mouthfeel. Very refreshing.

had a lot of these in Koeln and many try to get this delicate and light style right. This is a good example, perfume and light esters but a clean nice ale beneath. Only a tad thin.

Appearance: Nearly clear, gold body with a smallish, white head.

Smell: Strong top note of grain, like a just-opened malt sack. A little hinted sweetness, a little grape ester on deeper sniffs.

Taste: Sweetish, honeyish cereal maltiness. Lightly husky, crusty breadiness. A light spice, a sliver herb, and an altogether faint fruitiness. Modestly bitter. Drying finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-low carbonation.

Overall: Decent enough, would prefer a livelier effervescence. Can’t we go back to their 1st generation Kolsch?
