COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is Brewmaster Bob’s tribute beer for his first son, Colin.  There are loads of complex, caramelized malts in both the aroma and flavor from a 3 hour boil, with a faint hint of peat smokiness.  Very low hop bitterness and flavor; just enough to offset the malts.  Great for the cooler late fall and winter days, accompanying rich foods or desserts, or to keep you warm while wearing that kilt!

The ole beer board on the wall currently lists this second batch of Colin’s Wee Heavy Scotch Ale as being 7.7% ABV.

Appearance: Dark brown body with a slim, short, essentially white head.

Smell: Fresh plum, maybe even black cherries neatly tucked into notes of brown sugar, smoked sea salt caramels, and toasted bread crusts.

Taste: Deep, richly toasty malts topped with dark brown sugar and giving an incredibly faint roast. Invitingly sweet throughout. Deep plum fruitiness. Well-integrated smokiness. Very faint hop character, near nil bitterness, never putting up much competition for the sweet malts. Smooth, malty finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium-light carbonation.

Overall: A succulent malt-forward brew with flush of fruit and a subtle smoky edge to it.

Poured a clear dark reddish brown with a small lingering tan head. Aromas of tobacco, dark fuit, earthiness, toffee, graininess and molasses. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of molasses, toffee, tobacco, carmel and dark fruit with a smooth lingering fruity carmel finish.

Draft at W.B. Dark brown pour with a very tiny white head. Scent is sugar sweet with some roastiness. Taste is dark sugar sweet, roasty and something else sweet I can’t detect. Smooth but not something I want a lot of...

Deep red and clear in appearence. Mild hints of caramalzation on the the nose. The palate almost has a feel of grape soda. Drink on a colder day. Would have to stop at one.

8 oz draft.Bottle Medium to dark red brown orange color with a small, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, hay, caramel, overripped fruit, burnt brown sugar. Flavor is fairly sweet with heavy malts, caramel, aged fruits and a fairly long duration. Nice scotch ale.
