COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Very pale golden, hybrid ale/lager associated with the city of Köln, Germany. The name is a play on words; blending the Kölsch style with one of our neighborhood’s more famous streets – Colquitt. Uses all Bohemian pilsner malts and a German yeast blend that produces a lager-like character with a “soft” mouthfeel and low hop bitterness that makes it easy to drink more than one. Prost!

Draft sampler. Pours golden with a white head. Although I jsut noticed I have only one Kolsch rating, I have had several. This was certainly the best and most memorabel. Taste was caramel malts, lightly fruity (a touch tropical even), light hop. Palate was very pleasingly soft and almost creamy. Overall, a good brew, but a fantastic hot day brew that has just enough fruitiness not to be boring.

Sample in a flight at the Brewpub. Pours pale yellow with a medium, white head and good lacing. The aroma is lemon rinds, biscuits, and mild resin. The flavor is mild bitterness up front, with some bready sweetness in the finish. Light body, crisp, with a clean finish. Overall, this is a well balanced, supremely drinkable, and very nice Kölsch.

Maybe Kölsch just isn’t my thing. Tried this as a low ABV change of pace. Didn’t do it for me. Pours thin and light, which is okay when paired with a little more carbonation, but none was there. Taste was a bit synthetic. Think I will stick with the German Hefeweizens. Draft - Wrecking Bar - Atlanta, GA

Tap. Pours hazy golden with a small white head and decent lacing. Aroma is honey, light grain, light fruit. Flavor is the same, light sweet and very light bitterness. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. Pretty good, actually.

Pale golden pour with a bubbly white head. Nose is grainy, grassy with touches of bread and spicy hops. Crisp, clean grassy flavor with notes of spice and bubbly nicely carbonated body. Thirst quenching and pretty good.

Clear gold, light white head. Nose is mild (although the smell of cheese fries from the plate of the guy next to me at the bar is making it a little difficult to get.) Palate is a little creamy, but also crisp, with a light malt profile and low citrus hops. Easy-drinking.
