COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Le Papillon is the French word for butterfly, with significance being that it is both Inman Park’s trademark symbol and origin of Brewmaster Bob’s hometown name.  A light-bodied, cloudy, Belgian wheat beer. Made with unmalted wheat, oats, and barley and subtly spiced with Curacao orange peel and coriander. Perfect for warm weather drinking!

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a hazed gold with no real head. Sweet musky chamomile on the nose, a bit of yeasty musk. Medium bodied, nice chamomile again, with some citrus coming through. Really nice flavors with a lot of subtlety. Very tasty, with a hint more chamomile on the finish.

Pint on tap at the Variety Playhouse. Pale hazy golden amber body. Weak head. Spicy and, to a lesser extent, citrusy aroma. The flavor is moderately strong for the style, with negligible banana and ample hints of lemon. Light-medium body with good carbonation. O: recommended lemony version of the style.

Tap at Lazy Dog. Pours a hazy light light gold with a thin layer of cream colored head. Taste of grasses, malts, and fruit. Aroma is mostly malty, some citrus.

Comes out of the tap a hazy golden with a fine-bubbled white head that leaves generous lacing. Aroma is wheaty and lemony, not strong but OK. Flavor is bolder than what the aroma promises, wheaty and yeasty with a lemon hint. A bit of soap intrudes, but that could be from the glass. Texture is fairly fizzy and firm, going downstairs nicely. Lands on your tongue like a butterfly, and floats down to the tummy. Refreshing and gentle.

Draft. Cloudy yellow body with small white head. Aroma is medium sweet, lavender, chamomile, light lemon. Taste is medium sweet, lemon, some lavender. Light-medium body, low carbonation.

Draft - Lots of wheat and coriander. Cloudy yellow with almost no head. Slightly tart up front, followed by sweet lemon and wheat. Lavender is pleasant addition, little of the yeast profile. Sweet finish.

Appearance: Presented a clouded, pale straw-hued body with a slim, white head.

Smell: Soft, hewn hay, ultra fine pale malted barley. Only on a deep, sincere sniff does the beer reveal notes of spice and citrus. Really, a light aroma overall.

Taste: Pale malted barley, slight slim milk milkiness. Lightly sweet. A touch of coriander yields to the also fairly light orange peel flavor. The beer dries out fairly quickly, leaving a spicy, smooth finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-low carbonation.

Overall: A competent witbier, though I’d prefer a bit more carbonation.

Hazed pale yellow pour with creamy off white head and lace. Spicy coriander, paper, and wheat aroma. Flat wheaty flavor, coriander, and some spiciness. Light bodied and a tad fizzy.

Draft sampler. Pours a super cloudy yellow with white head and nice lace. Taste was banance, clove, medium sweet malts, some orangy citrus. Nice medium palare with a lingering sweetness. Nice wit.

UPDATED: JAN 20, 2014 My favorite in the flight of beer I tried at Wrecking Bar. Light and refreshing, with citrus notes. Very nicely done overall
