We have taken a classic west coast IPA and given it a unique twist. 23% of the malt bill is rye, giving it a bit more body and just one single hop is used - Nelson Sauvin hops which are native to New Zealand. These hops have aromatics of gooseberry and grapefruit. Enjoy this unique IPA and let us know what you think.

On tap at the pub. Definite pepper spice. Delicious looking red pour. Pine and spice aroma. Pretty entertaining although very rye dominant.

Sampler pours an amber color with a nice white head. Aromas of grapefruit, citrus, floral. Medium bodied, rye adds something nice, very good

Orange pour with creamy white head and lace. Aroma of very citrus and a tinge of rye malt. Flavor is bready light malt along with a hard citrus bitter that just continues to grow. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Just a tad unbalanced for me.

Appearance: Golden-copper body, hazed, with a half-inch of dusty white suds on top.

Smell: Citric, floral, lightly grassy hops with an additional hint of scuppernong jelly jump forward, with the notes of bready barley, toasted grain, and rye bringing up the rear.

Taste: Bready malted barley alongside a noticed inclusion of piquant rye. Light golden syrup sweetness. The hops give varied tastes, a little citrus, white grape, grassiness, some florals, which, joining the rye, give off kind of a sprucy/minty vibe. Medium-plus bitterness. Bittersweet finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Has a smooth heft about it.

Overall: A good beer, I enjoyed my pint more than I had expected to.

Had this beer as a follow up to a free tasting pour of KBS I received from the owner. Despite this, I feel as though my rating is unbiased. Not sure what separates a Rye Ale from a Rye Pale Ale. If I had to guess, it would probably be the IBU’s. This beer was a great mix of hops and rye. Poured a just dark enough amber with terrific lacing. Thoroughly enjoyed. Will be a go to in the future, if available. Draft - Wrecking Bar - Atlanta, GA

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a near clear amber with a tan head that lasts throughout the beer and laces beautifully. Aroma has has a nice combination of bitter citrus and grapefruit with a rye backbone. Flavor has lighter citrus up front but is joined by grapefruit and a touch of onion with a rye backbone that grows throughout.
