COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A hybrid of ale and lager and between amber and brown in color, this beer is of the Düsseldorf Altbier style, except “secret” or sticke with more German malts and hops.  A nice amount of biscuit, toffee, and caramel in the malt aroma and flavor.  These malt characters are noticeable at the forefront and fade to a dry finish; with a nice lingering, but not strong bitterness.  Tons of flavor, but easy drinking as well.

ChainGangGuy (4351) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - DEC 1, 2012
Appearance: Slightly hazed, medium copper-hued body with an inch of off-white foam. Nice lacing action on the way down.

Smell: Herbal, lightly spicy hop note just barely ahead of the toasted grain, bread, low caramel accents and scant fruitiness.

Taste: Toasted malts, a bit bready, a bit biscuity. Light caramelization and imparted sweetness. Fruitiness from plum skins, maybe a little apple. Earthy, herbal hops, lightly bitterness. Semi-dry, malty finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.

Overall: Not appreciably different from the previous Alted State Sticke. So, again, WB delivers a nice, tasty alt.

deyholla (6490) - Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA - NOV 9, 2012
Cask at the brewpub, dry hopped with Wakatu. Pours a clear amber orange with a light brown head that lasts throughout the beer and laces. Aroma has a light combination of grass and pine hops with a backbone of grain and biscuit. Flavor starts with an earthy grass note with a hint of wood backed by a good amount of earthy grain.
