3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Westmeister (937) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - MAY 12, 2013
Draft smapling. Pours a darker amber with off white head. Smell is dank florally and caramel malts. Taste is big maltiness, with orange, grapefruit, some pine. A bit too malt forward to be in my personal wheelhouse for an IPA, but still enjoyable.
2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 11/20 GTAEgeek (774) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - APR 28, 2013
On tap in a flight at the brewpub. Cloudy, dark orange, with a small, beige head. Pine and resinous hops, with some hay and mustiness. Very bitter flavor, with little malt backbone. Medium body, and rather harsh. Overall, this is a harsh, difficult IPA. Meh.

This was my second beer on my virgin trip to the Wrecking Bar. Unfortunately, once again, I thought the beer was just alright. I don’t know whether it is logically inconsistent to call the hops obtrusively overpowering and the flavor bland in the same sentence, but I appear to have done it. Poured darker than expected. I could see how some could enjoy this flavor, but it was just a bit anodyne for my palate. Will probably give a second look in 3-6 months. Draft - Wrecking Bar Brew Pub - Atlanta, GA
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 msante79 (2124) - Mount Prospect, Illinois, USA - APR 2, 2013
On tap at brewpub. Pours clear copperish amber with white head. Aromas bright citrus, some tropical fruit, caramel, and fresh hops. Flavors of grapefruit, mango, caramel, and good dose of bitterness. Something between the hop bitterness and malt profile don’t really jive but was still a decent IPA overall.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 theisti (2821) - Leawood, Kansas, USA - MAR 28, 2013
Half pint pour at the brew pub in Atlanta, Georgia. The pour is a hazed orange brown copper with a 1/2 inch off white head. Nice thick lacing left on the glass. The aroma is a bright citrus resin hops, along with a touch malt for balance. The taste is the hops up front, fresh and round citrus, the grassy resin bite and them moves towards the malt grain, and shows a decent amount of crystal malt as well. Finishes has a nice dry toast character. The palate is medium bodied, dry bitter finish, smooth mouth feel. Nice fresh IPA.

Tap. Pours cloudy deep reddish amber with a small off-white head that leaves almost zero lacing. Aroma is caramel, toffee, citrus, pine. Flavor is the same, quite malty with medium sweetness and a light bitterness growing to medium in the far finish. Much more malt complexity than normal for an IPA. Medium plus body, creamy mouthfeel, low carbonation.

Draft at brew pub. Deep amber pour with a white head. Lots of tropical fruits, mango, peaches, pineapples with balancing sweet malts. More thick maltiness in the flavor with more tropical hops and a long lasting resiny bitterness. Solid IPA.
