rmussman (693), California, USA Feb 19, 2008 Sampled at the Bar. A very well crafted beer. THe barley wine has a very full bodied taste with very sweet and hoppy taste. You can taste the strong oak barrel flavor, which gives it a individual appeal. pinkzambia (889), Boise, Idaho, USA Feb 3, 2008 Tap: This was one of the most unique, off the beaten path BW’s I have tasted. I think it has a lot to do with the French Oak. It is brown in color with not much of a head. The aroma is strong butter and is perhaps the sweetest and richest BW I have tasted. It is all thick buttery flavors with the sweetness of a Butterworth’s original. These flavors mask the higher alcohol % well. It leaves a thick coating in your mouth. It is rich, like a cheesecake of Barley wines. I am not sure if I like it or not, but definitely different.
