Festbier, as the name implies, is brewed especially for celebratory occasions, e.g. the Würzburger Kiliani Volksfest / public fun fair /. However, as there is always plenty to celebrate, bottled Würzburger Hofbräu Festbier, the original wort content of which must be over 13%, is naturally available throughout the year.

At Gene’s rooftop. Good. Not as copper a color as other marzens, the sweet maltiness made me think it was a heller bock at first. Mild grassy hops. Serving: Tap

Herb würziger Antrunk, steigende Karamelligkeit. Süffig, spritzig, die Herbe bleibt frisch. Ein nettes nebenbei Bier. 10/9/10/9//9

Malty sweet smell, very light color though, taste is malt but not too sweet...just a touch of bitterness on end

They seem to have nailed this style down pretty darn well. Almost no odor to speak of. Clear as a bell. Crisp and simple but surprisingly sweet and delicious. It makes me think of apples, fresh hay, and dewy sunrises. Quite nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft @ Sunset Grill and Tap, Allston, MA. Served in a mug. Yellow cloudy color thin, tiny head. Pleasant nose of malt and well spiced. Medium in body from solid bread like malt. Finishes a bit sweet with a light hop to balance it. Nice

Tap at the Ginger Man. Pale yellow pour, little head. Vegetal in the flavor, clean, with pils malts, minor hops, and a maibock like taste — just a bit heavier in body. Aroma has veggie sugars and munich malt.
