3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Beautiful fluffy head on pour, and nice strong malty aroma. This is going to be good, right? Taste is weak and watery, unexpected as it smelled so good. Nothing is left on the palate either, so I makrked it down for that. I was posed for something great, and got just plain mediocre....

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle best by June 2016, pours clear gold with a thin white head. Hoppy aroma is lemon, herbs, mineral water, faint soap, with quiet Pilsner malt expressed as dried crackers and toasted grain. Light bodied, lightly sweet to off-dry, moderately bitter, soft malt texture, fluffy effervescence, cleanly fermented with solid finishing bitterness and a lingering herbal-pepper-thyme quality. Lemon-y and oily and juicy and quite bitter, it’s certainly Franconian in character. The noble hop aroma and finish quality are quite good, there’s no defects at all, flavor balance is enjoyable, I just wish the aroma had more oomph.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
330 ml bottle. Pours a light golden color with a moderate frothy white head. Nose is mostly light grain with a touch of noble hops. Flavor mirrors the nose. Some metallic spicy hops in finish. Wurzburger brews some outstanding beers including their wonderful Christmas Festbier, Julius Echter Weissbiers and Sympator Doppelbock. This pales in comparison.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
BBD 2/16. Pours a clear golden. World class head volume, retention and lacing.
Outstanding light pilsner nose. A touch of noble hops and hints of lemon over a subtle grainy biscuit.
Light medium body with a smooth texture. Superb carbonation with a nice burst of effervescence in the middle a finely bubbled rush in the finish.
The flavor profile is almost world class. It is moderate in intensity, slightly complex and perfectly balanced. It begins with a slight noble hop flavor, more herbal than spicy, that flows into a mild subdued bitterness. The middle allows a light grainy biscuit to achieve balance. As the finish approaches, lemon notes are evident. The finish is crisp.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Light straw-colored beer with a medium fizzy bright white head. Nose of sweet corn, hay, and cracker. Flavor is mildly bitter with some lemon and a touch a sweet malt to buttress it. Well-balanced and not complex, this is a quality pilsner, although not my favorite style.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Maker: Würzburger Hofbräu (Schörghuber), Würzburg, Germany ***
Beer: Würzburger Hofbräu Premium Pilsener (on tap, 500ml) ***
Style: Pilsener ***
ALC.VOL.: 4.9% ***
"Würzburger Hofbräu Premium Pilsner has been the undisputed market leader in its core area of Lower Franconia for decades. It is brewed from the very best raw materials; it is elegant and delicately bitter in taste. In terms of sales focus, this beer comes top of our list." ***
Colour: Deep golden yellow, clear; medium white head. ***
Nose: Floral hops and lemon, some malt; no bread nor plaster notes. ***
Texture: Medium body, active carbonation, still a bit watery. ***
Taste: Bitter hops, floral notes and lemon at the start; malts for balance in the background. More bitter in the middle, even with some pinewood notes and herbs. Bitter hoppy finish with lemon, malts. Lasting bitter aftertaste. ***
Impressions: Polished, excellent Pilsener type beer without the woeful wet plaster notes that mar industrial Pilseners (Warsteiner et al). Agreeable lemony note throughout.

Draft from a few days ago I forgot to rate. A solid, balanced Pilsner. Very drinkable and great with dinner. I'd get it again.
