NOTE: The cask version (at 4.3%) has a separate listing.

Bah Humbug is a 6% abv brew using not just the traditional malted barley and hops, but also a big sprinkling of cinnamon. The effect of the cinnamon is to give a spicy, almost banana-like flavour as often found on German wheat beers; and this blends with the sweet-honeyed flavours of the Maris Otter barley to create a beer with all the fruit flavours of mince pies, Christmas Pudding and Christmas cake all rolled into one.

Strong banana aroma, flavours of cinnamon give it an interesting taste. Bought it for the cool name but it wasn’t too bad.

Pours brilliant ruby red. Creamy off white head fades quickly with some lacing. Aroma is faint Xmas spice and toasty malt. Flavor is more toasty malt the spice is very subtle, there’s a slight oxidized taste. Decent Xmas beer I like that the spice is not over done.

Pours a dark copper with a thick white head that doesn?t last long. Aroma of cinnamon and fruit loaf. Tastes of cinnamon with a hint of glazed cherry. very over powering and long lasting.

a pretty nice traditional winter warmer. medium bodied, malty, with a hint of cinnamon and a hint of hops (more in the aftertaste). nice beer,, really smooth and does not get you bloated at all. It has just the right amount of carbonation.

500ml bottle. Reddish brown colour with a small off white head. The aroma is like a cheap strong lager with corn dominating. The flavour is fairly plain with the addition of spice, in this case cinnamon. Not an unpleasant ale in fact it is quite drinkable. Not great. Note this was a 5% abv bottle.

"a pretty nice traditional winter warmer. medium bodied, malty, with a hint of cinnamon and a hint of hops (more in the aftertaste). nice beer, but there are too many very good winter seasonals to go back to this too often."

Bottle from old backlog notes. Pours a dark amber brown color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have sweet malts, caramel, some dark fruit, doughy malt, thin, the finish was bland.

Bottle from B & M Stockton. Pours ruby with an off white head. Quite a fruity beer with notes of toffee, sherry, banana and raisin. A fair bit of spice too. A decent amount of flavour and a decent beer.
