Commercial Description:
Winter Warmer.
Bah Humbug is a 6% abv brew using not just the traditional malted barley and hops, but also a big sprinkling of cinnamon. The effect of the cinnamon is to give a spicy, almost banana-like flavour as often found on German wheat beers; and this blends with the sweet-honeyed flavours of the Maris Otter barley to create a beer with all the fruit flavours of mince pies, Christmas Pudding and Christmas cake all rolled into one.

500mL bottle from the LCBO. Pours to a dark red with a thick cream-coloured head. Aroma is of vanilla, hazelnuts, maybe a touch of banana. Flavour is unbalanced, sweet, malt, nazelnut, very little hops (only present in the finish). Alcohol is surprisingly noticeable. I wouldn’t have it again.

not too bad, a decent effort, but bested by other holiday/winter ales out there.......a disagreeable finish, perhaps?

Bottle from Coop in Davis, CA. I wasn’t impressed by this brew. It was flat, weak, and had an odd sour taste. It obviously didn’t age well because I’ve had it for a while.

Bottle a liqour store, but I can’t remember exactly where. This one poured an amber color with a head that quickly disapated. Sweet malty flavor, but it was a little odd. Couldn’t quite place the exact flavor, but it was rather odd. Maybe it been sitting in Timfoolery’s fridge too long...
