Pours black with ruby edging and a tan head. Strong chocolate aromas, with dark malt and a touch of coffee. Tastes incredibly dark and rich - dark roasted malt, a little burnt, rich coffee flavours and a hint of dark chocolate. A bitter finish, a little fizzy on the palate but very smooth otherwise. Nice, very nice.

500ml bottle. Pours a clear dark brown, almost black with a medium, creamy, long lasting, beige head that laces. Sweet aroma of roasted malt, licorice, dark chocolate and a hint of coffee. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, oats, licorice and dark chocolate with a dry, bitter coffee finish. Medium body with a creamy, smooth, oily texture and soft carbonation. Not bad.

Wychwood Black Wych Porter 5% On sale two for 600¥ at Yamaya! A deep black with red highlights and a savoury chocolate aroma featuring umami, soy and molasses. It kind of makes me think of Synbrychoff's Baltic Porter. Medium bodied, unfortunately the taste doesn't live up to the aroma as the chocolate is mostly absent as it has been replaced with middle of the road English malts biscuit, toffee, acrid, soy, molasses but kind of rough. Good for the price. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Morrisons, Todmorden. Near black with an off-white creamy head. Says porter on the bottle, but this has a very mild stout-like character. It’s more dark malts than roasted ones, with a smoothish texture.

Pours black opaque colour with a tan dissipating head, leaving moderate lacing. Aroma is a bit smoky with dark chocolate and some roasted coffee notes. The taste pretty much follows the nose: smoky, dark chocolate and roasted coffee with slight bitter aftertaste. Very silky and smooth, the bitterness at the end makes it a very interesting drink. Extremely nice!

500 ml bottle. Drank that brew somewhere in the early fall 2015. Pours opaque black colour. Tan head. Bitter dark chocolate, roasted malts, toffee, hops in taste and aroma as well. Dry finish. I thought this beer belongs to English porter style. Ok. Let it be stout. Decent.

2 50cl bottles, shared with 2 friends. Almost black with small beige head. Both aroma and taste are roasted malts, licorice and hints of dark chocolate. The roasted character on the palate is weak, but a little bit of hops make it ok. Medium body, good carbonation. Not bad.
