Traditionally craft brewed in Oxfordshire using organically grown English Barley Malt and Organic Target Hops. Scarecrow is a wonderfully refreshing Golden Ale evoking lazy, hazy days of summer in golden meadows & ripe barleyfields. A winning combination of tart citric fruit flavours perfectly balanced by a rich biscuity maltiness and rounded off with a spicy bittersweet finish.

500ml bottle. Pours a clear golden with a medium, creamy, short lived, off-white head that laces. Floral hop aroma with caramel malt, bread, grass and light citrus. Sweet flavour of caramel malt, biscuit, citrus and grass with a dry, mildly bitter, hoppy finish. Light body with a watery texture and soft carbonation.

One of the better English ales I have had. Nothing amazing just a very decent very drinkable mild ale. If not for the $4 a pint price I could drink this everyday.

UPDATED: OCT 2, 2013 Butelka 0.5. Piana biala, srednio pecherzykowa szybko opada pozostawiajac cienki kozuszek.

Very cool bottle and label (just like the other Wychwood beers I’ve seen). Aroma is a little skunky but the flavor is wonderful. Starts out crisp and bitter but finishes smooth and sweet as the beer warms. Bright golden/yellowish color with little head retention and lacing.

500ml bottle. Pours a medium hued amber body with a tall, sudsy and fluffy snow white head. Loosely packed with tons of bubbles, but does have some nice retention and soapy lacing. Nose is as soapy as the head, dishwater hops mix with caramel malts, oranges, grapefruit and lemon grass. Aroma is fairly muted on the whole though. Fore is more of the soapy character that is prevalent in many parts of this beer, heavily astringent, along with backing flavors of caramel, toffee, pine nuts and citrus. Back end brings in a bit of honey sweetness, but artificial and not at all pleasing, and then more grassy notes. Light bodied, not watery but feels like battery acid on the tongue. Not really a pleasing experience. Finish is soap, hops, sweet malts, honey, grass and flowers; medium length. Just a below average beer when all is said and done.
