Traditionally craft brewed in Oxfordshire using organically grown English Barley Malt and Organic Target Hops. Scarecrow is a wonderfully refreshing Golden Ale evoking lazy, hazy days of summer in golden meadows & ripe barleyfields. A winning combination of tart citric fruit flavours perfectly balanced by a rich biscuity maltiness and rounded off with a spicy bittersweet finish.

Golden ale, short white head. Aroma with bread (a bit brew mashy?). Hoppy flavour (kentish...). Nuts. Perfumy. Overall pretty average stuff.

Until they rid themselves of the clear bottles, make sure the bottle you get is fresh. It gets skunky really fast. I didn’t like this as much as their other beers, but it was far hoppier than I expected. A nice surprise.

Pale amber bordering on orange. Gemlike clarity- holding my glass up to the window, I see an upside-down fisheye miniature of the outdoors, in perfect detail. Almost nonexistant carbonation nevertheless maintains a thin, very white head. Earthy barnyard aroma followed by sweet freshly-mowed grass and brown sugar. Maybe a little skunked? Clear bottle, y'know. Thin caramel flavor, brown sugar again, and a whisper of hops. Watery finish tastes like an ESB cut about 6-to-1 with water. It's like the ghost of a beer: it's there, but completely insubstantial. The flavor actually fades the more I drink, becoming merely colored water. What a gyp!

500ml bottle. Cloudy golden yellow with thin wisp of head. Wheat, hay and apricots - but generally faint in aroma and flavour. Light all through. Not bad, just forgettable.

Yuch. No good. Definitely skunked completely. Clear yellow, no head. Sweet flavor like a Molson. Leads to a dry finish. Poured the rest out.

50cl bottle, "Circlemaster". Slightly hazy, pale golden colour, small white head disappears quickly, minimal lacing. Intense aroma of apples and malt, some hops. Hoppy, sour citrus notes and bitterness dominate at first, but the finish is slightly sweet, with a wee touch of banana lurking through. The sour-and-sweet character makes Circlemaster a very refreshing pale ale (a premium esb it is NOT), though I’d marginally prefer the same company’s WychCraft blonde.

Pours a golden-copper color. Aroma is light, slightly hoppy, and slightly skunky. Flavor is refreshingly light. Nice solid hop flavor, but not too bitter. A slight bit of caramel malty flavor. Crisp. Slightly thin on the palate.
