Commercial Description:
Cask; February; It is set to cause a ruck at the bar with its winning team of Maris Otter Pale malt, Crystal malt and malted wheat. Northdown, Challenger and Target are thrown into the scrum to provide the citrus aroma (resonant of half-time oranges?) and enough bitterness to ensure there's no foul play. Points are guaranteed with an ABV of 4.4%

Amber colored, little light brown head. Rich fruity aroma with mild pineapple, fruits and some chocolate. Thin to medium bodied. Flavor starts with lemon, turns to dry and crispy with hops.

Far From the Madding Crowd Sticky sweet with an assertive hop soaked character. Decent enough, if a little serious.

Cask conditioned - handpump - Far From The Madding Crowd, Oxford. An amber coloured beer with tons of diacetyl throughout. In addition to that there is some boozy fruit, and some sweet caramel and toffee. Boring and short but what do you expect? I believe Hughie is referring to me in his rating.

Cask at Far from the Madding Crowd, Oxford, on Ratebeer Oxford Day ’08. Amber with a small white head. Faint malt aroma. Sweet pear fruit taste. Mid bitter finish. Found myself seated between two Ratebeerians, one of whom quite liked and admired Wychwood beers, while the other despised them and all they stood for. Such are the pleasures of a Ratebeer crawl.
