COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Seasonal - October & November.
Pale golden, well rounded flavours warm the palate & come together with a hint of nuts, resulting in a robust fulsome aroma that hangs low ítil the last.

Cask at The Woodman, Durham, £3.30/pint. Light golden/amber beer with a thin, smooth, white head. This was overly sweet - honeyed and saccharine on top of biscuity caramel malts. That makes it sound tasty but it wasnít. Sickly.

Cask at wainstones, stokesley. Deep golden colour with a nice shiny white head. Aroma is good and fruity, hoppy and nutty. Taste is crisp and bitter and refreshing. Nice smooth palate, with good tingle. Good solid golden ale.

Cask at The Kings Head, Lichfield. Anything but the DísBís...Pours clear gold with a single finger cream coloured head. Light malts, subtle fruity hops on both the aroma and the taste...add some caramel flavours on the taste...not great but not the worst.

Cask @ The Albert, Hebden Bridge. Clear caramel-gold in colour with a creamy head. Has a malt-hop fusion, perhaps slightly more of the former, but there is a English fruitiness about its character.

Been looking forward to this for a couple of years. When I finally found it on cask it wasn't worth the hunt and hype, quite average brown ale

Cask by handpump at Bon Accord, Glasgow - clear golden amber, thin creamy off-white head, sweet pale malty aroma, good film of thin lacing, sweet, fruity, lemony citrus, pale malty flavour, very easy to drink

Cask at the Kings Tun JDW, dark gold with a lasting white head, biscuit malty body with dry peppery hops, interesting contrast of smooth malt and dry-bitter hops, otherwise average.

Cask. Golden ale with a thick white head. Nose is fruity - mango and orange and grapefruit. Quite light and watery in the mouth but there's a robust balance of sweetness and hops. More mango orange and grapefruit, but some nice malt sweetness throughout. A good solid pint.

First tasted this infamous named ale at the Mossend Hotel Beer Festival, Lochwinnoch in July 1994. Cask, handpump dispense. Pale copper red in colour with a large foamy white head. Powerful aroma of sweet malt and hops. Good vibrant mouthfeel leads to a full bodied robust flavour. Pale malts evident with spicy digestive biscuit base combined with redcurrant fruit. Smooth toffee notes linger in the warming aftertaste, along with a slight aromatic hop dryness. A good example of an English strong ale in the same mold as Gale\ís HSB. Knew one landlady who covered up a certain part of the pumpclip picture with a sticky label!!
