Fresh off his cart is No.4. It’s an unpasteurised shimmering blonde concoction of fruits. Instant refreshment with an insanely fragrant aroma. No.4 is the first of the good DR’s elixirs to emerge from his apothecary. We expect more brews to follow from this enigmatic character.

Served in a snifter from a 500ml bottle. Pours clear golden colour with white head. Aroma is a nice mixture of pine resin, earth and fruits with clear citrus, elderflower and grassy notes. The taste is of citrus with slight bitter pine notes, medium bitter with balancing sweetness. Thin to medium body with a short pleasant bitter finish. Overall it is a nice, balanced and easily drinkable beer with a nice character. Will be reaching for more, especially during summer months!

Pours a clear looking orange color with a medium white head. Smell is mostly citrus and it’s quite pleasant. Unfortunately, this beer is nothing to write home about. It’s ok, but feels unfinished. It lacks the edge, so to speak. Aroma is nice but it’s not coming through strong enough. It’s somewhat bitter, but again, not enough. Low carbonation is not working in its favour because it’s only enhancing the watery mouthfeel. Finish is a bit dry. Overall, pretty mediocre and in this price range you can treat yourself to a much better beers.
