General_Gao (2368), Iowa City, Iowa, USA May 6, 2008 500ml bottle. Poured a clear medium orange color. The head was off white and reduced relatively quickly to a thin film. A bit of lace was left behind. Interesting aroma of subdued brown sugar, toffee, and some grassy hops. There was also an occasional whiff of copper. Mixed fruit and blunted caramel flavors. Eh.
A_R (279), Georgia, USA Jul 26, 2008 The Fiddler’s elbow pours a dark amber with a weak aroma. This flavor has both malts and hops that are noticeably present, but they don’t really seem to mix together too smoothly. KimJohansen (2460), Copenhagen V, Denmark Jul 22, 2008 Bottle. Clear amber with medium off white head. Sweet with mild hoppy, peachy and caramel notes. gotohelunc (325), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Jul 10, 2008 Bottle. Dark copper beer, thin head. Malty, plums, sugar. caramel. Nice complex stuff that’s still very drinkable. Linus_Stick (1481), Moon Township, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 29, 2008 A decent ESB. Aroma was a little weak. Mostly caramel malt. Pour was a nice deep dark gold/light brown with a one finger off white head. Taste was mostly caramel malt with decent carbonation and just a hint of earthy hops in the background. Good, not great. weaselkenievil (295), Cheshire, England Jun 6, 2008 500ml bottle from the hag we call Steptoe. A gnarled old slag who stinks of piss and owns the only offy near by. The Last Oasis it’s called. Avoid it like the plague. Especially when this is the best they have. Slight tobacco and caramel but a little thin tasting. Not terrible by any stretch, average
