500 ml bottle - pours a beautiful foxy reddish amber, almost Vienna-like, with a thick two-finger beige head. Big earthy Goldings aroma, along with some underlying malt presence. Nice, nice. Very soft in themouth, well-carbonated for the style. Flavours are fairly subdued, but there is some malt sweetness upfront, and good hop bitterness and a mineral quality in the finish. Thin-bodied. Not hugely complex, but if they could get these flavours in a Mild, this would be very good refreshing session brew. Wheat present, but verrry faint. Good beer.

[351-20070621] 500mL. Musty, hoppy vegetable aroma. Hazy, orange brown body with a quick foamy white head. Hoppy flavour is lightly musty, lightly floral. Medium body has a soft bitter sting. Not great blending but all right.

I feel this beer is a bit pretentious. I get a lot of alchohol, some lemony bitterness, with a bit a wheat and some caramel. I feel that it tried to be everything but didn’t pull it off too well.

Orange color, quite big off-white head. Ashy, yeasty, flowery hoppy nose. Lemony-honeyish sweet flavor, some citrusy bitterness in the finish. Soft wheaty palate. Quite typical drinkable but boring Wychwood-product - usually label is the most interesting part of the beer.

Pours orangish golden with a fully receding light tan head. Aroma of toffee, light smoke, diacetyl, wood. Taste is sweet, sticky, and buttery. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and sticky with lush carbonation. Not bad, but also not impressed.

Bottled. Clear amber with a quickly disappearing white head. The aroma is hoppy with grassy notes. The flavour is fruity with sweet notes of caramel. Soft mouthfeel, medium body, with not much bitterness. A easy drinking and refreshing ale.
