500ml bottle. Pours dark orange with a white head. Smell is faint hops and yeast. Slightly spicy and sweet. Flavor is smooth, a bit watery, spicy with some slight hop bitterness. Average to good beer. Nothing special but nice.

Pours a pleasing orange color, with a froathy creamy head wich leaves behind a nice creamy film. There is something in the aroma I can’t quit pin, maybe its the barley, but over all the smell is very malty. A hoppy start, gives way to a strong malt ending, but with the bitterness of the hops coming back in the finish, slightly sweet with just enough dry bitterness to make me want more. Carbonation isn’t bad, but the beer is a little syrup. Overall I really enjoyed this beer.

Pours a still amber with moderate off-white head that leaves fairly quickly. Aroma is fairly hoppy, but nothing unusual. Flavour is a bit spicy at first, but quckly changes to a bitter roasted taste. Finish is actually quite nice, with a slight lasting bitterness that makes your mouth water. Overall a nice bitter. Nothing really unusual or unique though.

Sampled on 8/3/06: Clear dark golden bronze pour has a thin ring of white head and a lightly earthy pale malty aroma. Body starts mildly sweet and fairly full with a drier, more crisp bittersweet finish. True to style and very drinkable.

Bottled. Thin to medium body. Rather burnt, roasted taste. Definitely can taste some carmel from some darker roasted barley. Strongly hopped. Hops overpower some of the sweetness. Overall, not an earthmoving experience.

Clear orange amber colour with thin biege head. Grainy/grassy malt nose with slight hop hints. Mild bitter hop taste with lingering bitter finish.

Aroma of malt, and not roasted/toasted. Background has some hop. Deep brassy coldor color with a white head that definitely laces. Starts a bit thin, and though caramel malt is tasted, this is a bitter. Hop. Not NW DIPA, but hop that sticks to the taste buds. UK brew hopped toward US prejudice. Nice.

From the Northcoast Coop here in Eureka, CA. I paid $3.85 for this bottle. Sometimes I think label art should be part of the rating for appearance. This one is delightful. Poured a hazy amber with a moderate head that settled quickly leaving some lacing. Nose of malts and hops, with some citrus. Mouthfeel was full-bodied, and smooth on the back of the tongue. Flavor was of hops and malts with some spices. Finish slightly bitter. A well crafted and drinkable brew.
