(Rating #497)

When I started drinking this beer I enjoyed the hopiness and spicy flavour. What I did not enjoy was the after taste, I found it extremely unpleasant . Overall not a bad beer but I would not drink it again due to the aftertaste.

Bottle. Poured a hazy amber with a large frothy white head that was mostly lasting and produced good lacing. Moderate sour citrus and yeasty aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture. Medium bitter sweet flavor with a sour citrus finish of average duration. A strange combination of flavor.

500 ml bottle poured a hazy amber with a small dissapating off white head. Aromas of bread, a bit of fruitiness and some mustiness. Palate was light bodied. Flavors of sweet malt, some fruitiness and mild hops with a smooth lingering mildly bitter finish.

In the 0.5 L bottle at the Huber Haus Weissbier tasting 4/11/6. Yeah, I know it’s not a wheat beer, but Bill gets crazy and drags out stuff at the end of every tasting for the stragglers. Pours amber with no head. Has a bready yeasty musty aroma. Mellow palate. Good amount of malt for this brewer. Toasted. Finish is a bit disappointingly metallic and bitter in a non-pleasant way.

Pours a murky orange, minimal head with decent lacing despite head size. The smell is sweet and floral, with a bare hop nose to it. The taste is sweet, smokey, and earthy all at once, with a grainy malt flavor dominating the endtaste. Very bubbly to the palate. An excellent bitter.

Bottle from my buddy Tony. Sweet, roasted malt aroma that is slightly chalky; nice. Crystal clear, dark gold with plentiful, but slow rising, well dispersed carbonation. Off-white head that is mostly diminishing. Not much lace. Initial mouthfeel is promising. Lightly sweet. Is fairly bland in the finish but with a pleasant, doughy quality. A nice beer for maltheads who like dryer beers.
