A little thin on the palate, honey, malt, sweet grass, not much bitter hops for an ESB. Not bad, I think it’s worth a little more than a 2.82 CampbellWilson (533), Scotland

Usual aroma, maybe with a little honey, some hop flower. Thin mouthfeel, hoppy finish. tiggmtl (4310), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Dec 15, 2004 Some grain in the aroma as well as caramel malts and herbal hops. Clear, deep copper-amber with thin, off-white head that diminishes to lightly ring. Caramel malt flavour is subdued and somehow lifeless. Some nuttiness also apparent. Medium body is somewhat watery. Fairly drinkable but really quite unexciting. Nice to finally see a dark bottle from this brewery! winkle (453), Brisbane, Australia
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Dec 8, 2004 Bottled (clear bottle- sigh): Gimicky lable. Poured an amber colour, herbal aroma. Medium head with a bit of lacing. Flavour was malty & nutty but a bit on the sad side, as if the wort had been boiled then watered down by 25% before bottling. Palate was very watery. There is possibly a good beer in here trying to get out, but I’m not going looking. AlphaOne (142), Australia
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/20 | Dec 8, 2004 Rich amber, some lacing. Aroma is rich and fruity, woody hoppiness, bread, honey and plum. astringent bitterness, fruity, somewhat hollow flavour profile, too dry IMO, with a nasty cardboard aftertaste BeerAteHer (384), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Dec 3, 2004 Aroma is faint but hoppy with a bit of a harsh tannic undertone. Appears quite cloudy with not much carbonation to speak of. Likewise, the brew is weak and watery on the palate. Despite these shortcomings the flavor is rather intense and exhibits a typical ESB floral hoppiness with rich, malty undertones. Bottom line is Fiddler’s Elbow tastes ok but has about the weakest texture of any British bitter I’ve come across. WabashMan (801), Noblesville, Indiana, USA
| 1.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 4/20 | Oct 31, 2004 An awful brew. Not much worthy to write about at all , in my opinion. Total drain pour. Choos (504), Taylors Hill, Australia
